Disappointed with Ohana.

I suspect that character staff frequently get their initial restaurant exposure at breakfast sittings so the experience while it is great fun might have occasional shortcomings. Not to say that the character staff aren't as good, only that the likelihood is possible.

Having been a waiter at fine dining establishments I always try to empathize in that everyone has their bad days. Unfortunately their bad day resulted in your having a bad morning. Hope the rest of your day went well.

If many ppl are posting positive reviews I suggest giving it another try, maybe at dinner or lunch. We are headed to Ohanna's for a dinner this trip. I'll be happy to post our reviews.

I love O'hana and I can't wait to go back.

But I will say, when we went at Mardi Gras the service was not good. We had dinner and the food was great but our waitress was not friendly and not efficient. I felt rushed to get in & get out.

I'll be back. Hopefully with better service.

We did 'Ohana on our last trip and I agree with you. I'm glad we did it but my thinking is "been there, done that" so no need to do it again. We have not done the dinner yet, however. We may do it in the future but not on our next trip. I will sort of need to be convinced to do it.

We havent done Ohana for Breakfast but yeah their dinner is great.
AK's Tusker house did have an excellent character breakfast though. Food and service there was great. Not once was I without coffee (And I love my coffee and tend to drink alot of it). Plus there you can book a time for an hour before the park opens - finish eating and jump on the Safari or Everest with little or no line at all.

We had a disappointing experience with the Ohana breakfast, too. The characters were overly rushed, the food was fine with us but the portions were small and we had to wait forever for refills, and the table where we were seated was in a corner near the restrooms that was jarringly loud (due to proximity to the kitchen and the lobby), gave us views of absolutely nothing (no windows, no pretty decor), and was inexplicably incredibly dark. We were so isolated and ignored, we began to feel like we were "bad kids" who were being punished for something.

We'll save our table service budget for dinners in the future.

Have gone to 'Ohana 5 times - 3x for dinner, twice for breakfast, and it's been great every single time. Sorry you had a bad experience. :(

Ohana dinner is really where it's at! My sister's and my favorite meal on property! We've been there 3 times and each time has been absolutely delicious and the service really great. We've had breakfast there once and I will say the same thing about breakfast. The food was great (love those breakfast potatoes) and the service was good. I guess it's hit or miss somedays :( Give it a try for dinner though. Most everyone loves it though I do know some people who didn't care for it. We are having my cousin's birthday dinner there in May. 3 of us have been, 3 haven't and I'm hoping they love it as much as we do!

One thing to take into account also is the allotted time for breakfast, 7am to 10am for most people. That's a lot of ppl to squeeze into breakfast in only 3 hours. Also, many restaurants don't serve breakfast which compounds things even more. Not defending Ohanna's, simply pointing out contributing factors.

Like others have said, dinner at Ohana is something we enjoy every trip, wouldn't miss it. Never tried breakfast though as we don't eat a lot in the mornings.

WOW, I'm shocked! We had an excellent experience at Ohana for breakfast... Even my husband raved about the food and service, and he's usually really hard to please. I'm sorry you had such a suckish time there! :(

Live and learn. If you want a good breakfast buffet, Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge is a great option. Boma is also an excellent option if you are on the Dining Plan, but it is overpriced if paying out of pocket. For a made to order breakfast it is hard to beat the Kona Cafe at the Poly. The pineapple/macadamia nut pancakes, Tonga Toast and the 100% Kona Coffee press pot are almost legendary.

Touche! :)
