Dinosaur effects

Can anyone tell me what effects are broken in Dinosaur? I've heard there are a lot of effects that are broken.

What do you mean?
Dinosaur has a reputation for being one of the loudest attractions. I don't have the same complaints as others there, but I've heard that complaint from multiple independent of one another.

Many of the "broken" effects were effects that were turned off shortly after the attraction opened. This included things like the swooping pteradactyl, the jumping compsognathus, and many more that I'm sure @marni1971 or @Alektronic can probably cite.

The laser targeting effect on the Iguanodon has been off for years.
The fog after time travel barley works if at all.
The Cearadactylus has been stationary for years.

@marni1971 will know the rest.

Is there any video of the jumping compsognathus?

Yeah it is definitely too loud, especially when the T rex thing pops out and it takes your photo. Every single time we have our hands over our ears in the photo haha

I guess I don't ride this enough to notice this or that not working. Things may be broken...things that might make it even better! But it works well enough for me. I like Dinosaur.

Usually if anything isn't working, it tends to be the one dino that's eating another. There's usually some movement there with the bigger dino's head moving up and down, but in the instances when I've noticed something wasn't working right, it was typically that.

It's the perfect audio level, it sounds exactly as one would expect a harrowing situation to sound. Unfortunately it's complainers who got it turned down a few months ago, and now it's not nearly as exciting. It's always been well withing the legal decibel limit.

When we rode in October -- for the first and only time ever -- the Alioramus, one of the first dinosaurs you see (the one that has a half-swallowed dino in its mouth) was totally immobile. It looked ridiculous: everything else around it had some sort of movement, and the Alioramus and its prey were standing there, the best-lighted pieces in that scene and clearly meant to be a centerpiece, not moving a muscle. Even though we'd never ridden before, it was obvious that it was supposed to be DOING something, but wasn't. It made a pretty lackluster first impression.

I should add that we were in the very first row of the very fist vehicle to pass through the attraction that day, so clearly it had been broken since at least the day before, and nobody was bothering to fix it.
