Dinner dress attire on Disney dream?

I read Disney loosened the dress code recently, going on the 3 night cruise-- for those that have cruised recently are men and boys now wearing khaki dress shorts or are more wearing long pants? Are nice sandal/ flip flops ok or need a sherry topsider style?

I still saw a pretty big range of dress at dinner. Some in shorts, but most seemed to be in khakis with jeans coming out somewhere in the middle for men.

Nice flip flops for women?

Technically nice shorts & polo are okay in the MDRs now but my hubby still says he'd rather wear pants. I think he's insane. I prefer shorts.

There is a wide range in the MDRs, that's for sure.

Nice flops with sundresses are great. Just don't try to attempt anything that even remotely resembles them no matter how nice or fancy in Remy. Trust me.

Well.....considering last month on our 7 night we ate a MDR once & Palo once because we didn't feel like dressing or dedicating that much time to eating on the other nights....5 out of 7 nights were still shorts & tshirts. :hilarious: It would've been 6 but Cabanas doesn't serve dinner on the first night of a cruise. In the end we don't want to dumb-down the big dinner affair for others. I'm very interested to see what the non-dress dinner options will be like on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas next month. I'm really hoping for more variety of options! :D

I had a similar problem with itallian denim in Remy ... even though they cost more than most suits, I had to change into a pair of slacks, I had no slacks, so they gave me a pair of black suit pants to match my jacket that night. The wife was very happy with me.
