Dinner at Hollywood Studios?

We tend to avoid eating at DHS.

We haven't eaten at a TS restaurant in DHS on our last three trips. We make late reservations at a restaurant in the World Showcase or one of the Epcot resorts. We take the boat over to the International Gateway or resort and rest our feet awhile.

Mama Melrose is nothing exactly to write home about, and The Brown Derby is overpriced. Sci-Fi is great for the atmosphere, but it's menu isn't the most expansive. 50's PT has a pretty good dinner menu, and a solid bar to prepare you for it. And the H&V buffet is good for both breakfast and dinner, perhaps the most bang for your buck at DHS....

I am a huge fan of the Hollywood Brown Derby but it can be expensive so I am going to suggest you giving Mama Melrose's a try. Great food and not so bad prices.

Mama Melrose

Mama Melrose is your best bet. The Peroni beer is the coldest in WDW and the calamari is a great appetizer. Perfect at about 4:30 after a hot day.

I had an idea. Has anyone ever left the park in, say late afternoon, and gone to have dinner at one of the nearby hotels then returned for Fantasmic? How far is the Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin?
That acutally would be my suggestion. I guess it depends how much time you have. The boardwalk area has so many choices, from Beaches n Cream to Yachtmans Steakhouse. Yachtman is by far my favorite. It also give you a chance to unwind from the parks. Let's face it DHS isn't a full day park, especially if this is not your first trip.

DW and I both really enjoy Mama Melrose. The decor is pretty cool and the food is (IMO) above average, especially when compared to Tony's in MK.
