Dinner at Be Our Guest

I was lucky enough to attend the first dinner at the Be Our Guest restaurant on Tuesday, 10/30. This restaurant is going to be the hardest place to secure for some time to come. It was only 1 TS credit on the DDP.

We started with the assorted cured meats and sausages platter, french onion soup and the garden salad. All were very good, the salad has a lot of vinegar.

Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop

Grilled Strip Steak

Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops

Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake

Everything about this place is just simply amazing. The atmosphere and the food were both excellent. I love the falling snow outside the window in the ballroom.

In the appetizer, what are the cheeses on the plate? I didn't see them listed on the menu.

wow, do i want to eat there. but alas, after four hours and several hundred calls starting at 7 AM on the dot the day reservations opened, i was unable to secure a reservation. and you just made it so much worse. alas, maybe next trip. thanks for posting, it does look wonderful. when i say "wish i was there", i really really mean it. glad you got to experience it, and thanks for sharing. i'll just go sit in my little corner here and sulk!

There was only one cheese on the plate in the lower corner but I don't know what kind it was either. I didn't know what a lot of the items were but they were all good.

The chacutire plate looks good, but the presentation on that is lacking as well. The chop plate is kind of messy looking. But then this was the first dinner. First time the kitchen was under real pressure I assume.

A question on the steak...

Had you "been in" to the offering before the photo? Or was that actually how it was served?

Right? Looks kinda like the waiter was running with it and the juice responded appropriately.

I saw on a different website's threads (not WDWmagic - gasp!) someone was complaining about Be Our Guest restaurant!! She said she was disappointed in the building and thought they'd "do more" with it. My friend and I have reservations for BOG and cannot WAIT to see it. I believe it will be one of the highlights of our trip. Some people are impossible to please.
