Dinner at AK or Epcot

Hi there! I will be going to WDW in January and wanted to get your thoughts on something.

On the day that I go to AK, they have EMH in the evening. However, I have booked dinner reservations at Via Napoli at Epcot for 6pm.

To get to Via Napoli time, I'm thinking I'd have to leave AK by 4:30ish.

My question is, if I get to AK at 9am, do you think that's enough time to see everything?

Or should I change my reservation to the Yak & Yeti so I can stay at AK and take advantage of the EMH? If I stay at AK til 8pm, is there enough to do there?

I would say EPCOT, simply because it has more to offer at nighttime, as opposed to DAK, where it's more of the outer beauty and excitement...I guess it all depends on the ages of your party, care to fill us in?

I would personally stick to the plan and eat at EPCOT. The food will be better, and the evening activities will be more abundant. I think that a 4:30 deadline at DAK leaves a good amount of time to hit the highlights, plus some.

However, if you have never experienced the beauty that is AK at night, I for one would choose to stay at AK. The animal attractions won't be running, but what a treat it is to enjoy AK in the dark. The lighting is stunning!

This is what I was going to say. If you have never been to AK at night then you should definitely check it out. The park takes on an entire different look, and it is absolutely stunning. I also find a ride on everest at night to be much better than during the day.

To answer your question, yes, you will have enought ime at AK to do everything you want. We find it a five hour park as most others would agree. While the nighttime is beautiful, there is so much more to do at EPCOT at night, especially considering your ages, we are very close in age as well. You can do lunch at the bar in Yak and Yeti, and then try out Via Napoli. Either way, its a great time.

Just a thought, take a look at the Tusker House for Lunch. Totally enjoyed the food and variety this past September. Was very pleasently surprised. Now back to your topic, EPCOT is the way to go at night, Food, Illuminations and Pavillions. Som much more to do at night vs AK

AK is awesome at night. Pretty much just the rides are open then, but it is a very different feel than from the day. I recommend doing it at least once.

It sounds like this may be your first trip to AK. In that case, it takes a while to see everything. Sure, you can do the rides before 4:30, but if you want to enjoy the animals at the Oasis, see the Nemo, Lion King shows and Flights of Wonder shows and really enjoy at the atmosphere, it takes longer.
I know that a lot of people ride Everest and leave, but I really enjoy sitting in front of some of the exhibits and just watching the animals. I also enjoy talking to the CMs at Rafiki's Planet Watch. They are so
knowledgeable about the caretaking of the animals.
Personally on my AK days, I eat at Boma or Sanaa. The lodge is close to AK and an attraction itself.

I haven't been to AK at night, but Yak and Yeti is actually one of the best restaurants in my opinion. Especially the wonton dessert!!!!!
