Dining Reservation Question

I've never been in there because I don't understand what it is. Is it fast food? Full service? It looks confusing so I avoid it.

It's a buffet-type restaurant, like the French Market. You go in, grab a tray and you pick which station you want to eat from, pasta, chicken or pot roast. It's like a cafeteria. The servers put the food on your tray, grab a drink and that's it. Only takes a few minutes to get your food, if it's not too crowded.

Pizza Port's pasta is really good
Ooh seconding this. The alfredo fusili with chicken or whatever the heck it's called is CREAMY DELICIOUSNESS ON A PLATE. For the cost of probably 9384398743 calories >.< But soooo yummy.
As far as DTD I enjoyed the pizza at Naples a lot. And they have a Haagen Dazs.. what more do you need!? :D

LMAO, I don't know what it's called either but it sure is good!!! And it doesn't look like they give you much but they actually do. YUM. Please don't get me started on Haagen Dazs. The brownie sundae is so good.

Also, the Rainforest Cafe does their own reservations, so if you choose to eat there, you have to call them directly.

And I would say if you are looking to have an early-morning breakfast at any of the parks (say...pre-opening), definitely reserve that! I'm pretty sure you would have to have a reservation in that case.

But I thought the same thing in the lax attitude on reservations. It's kind of nervewrecking!

Never really considered the ability to walk up and eat in the restaurant of my choice as "nerve-wracking". LOL

Speaking of reservations, we made one to Carthay for yesterday as soon as it was possible to do so (weeks/month ago?), but ended up sitting in traffic on I-5 for 2 hours yesterday and missed it. Grrr. So we walked over and had lunch (without a reservation ;)) at Carnation Cafe instead. I had a burger and it was one of the best I've ever had. I guess I won't miss my Chef Salad too much.

They actually do reservations through Disney's system as well as their own.

With Rainforest, you don't need reservations for that either. Same goes for all the other Downtown Disney restaurants. And I agree with Laura, I don't see how one can be uncomfortable with just walking into a restaurant and sitting down.

Our favorite on our trip in 2010 was the Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland. Little kabobs of various kinds of meat. I wish we would have found it our first day instead of our last day - we would have stopped there several more times!

When we were there we wanted to eat at Ariel's grotto and we called ahead to get reservations, they didn't have an online system like WDW.

While we were waiting to be seated, a few people walked up without ADR's and they had to turn them away, so I am glad we got the ressies. I doubt it is like this at all the restaurants out there, but it never hurts to call.

Love Bengal BBQ! There is a super spicy skewer, it always sounds good and then I eat it and my mout is on fire! I have to remember next time not to get it!

Well just because I have walked up to places at WDW and sadly been turned down! So it is nice to have your ducks in a row to avoid that I think. But honestly, how nice that the Disneyland restaurants aren't as busy/reserved so you can just walk up with no reservations and get a table. That's nice!
