Dining Plan snack experiences?

Hello all, we leave tomorrow for WDW and are on the dining plan. I've done many searches. For those of you who have been on the dining plan and have returned within the past 4 or 5 months, what have you had accepted as snacks on your dining plans? There have been some mentions of a bakery somewhere in the MK, where a nice cinnamon roll can be had for the snack credit and other similar things. Can I snag a Dole Whip?
Just quick mentions of accepted foods and locations would be greatly appreciated.

Dole Whip's....NO. On my recent trip I just used it to get much needed bottles of water. You can redeem your "snack" at vending carts or counter service places for drinks and stuff like ice cream bars or popcorn. Hope this helps :wave:

When you check in at your hotel you will receive a listing of where you can use your credits. Table service, counter service and snacks.

This would be SO great!
I question it a little, because none of them appear to be noted otherwise.
Much better than a bottle of sugar water or popcorn if we can get any of them.

Please, keep 'em coming...not much time left Life is good.
I'm really looking for the stuff besides ice cream bar, soda, apple, popcorn.

This is absolutely true. We just came back from our trip 9/24-10/1 and used all our remaining dining plan snacks to eat a dinner's worth of food at all the booths at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. I recommend this! The heartburn was worth it....

We had the dining plan for our September trip, and we ate an outrageous amount of food. Over 5 days, 5 of us had 50 desserts between lunch and dinner, and all for free!! The dining plan is the best thing since bubble gum.

Just got back from a trip with the Dining Plan. Clearly the best snack option is the food at the Epcot Food and Wine festival. Beyond that, just about every place we looked were little DDP icons by the items you could get. Also, at the All-Star Sports, in the market place section of the food court, they had set up a display shelf with all of the items you could get -- it was quite helpful.

Other little things we found out about snacks..

We used counter service at Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, and grabbed a $2.50 fruit cup for our 2 year old, planning to pay cash, but they let us use a snack for that.

Meanwhile, same kind of fruit cup, roughly, in MK was not snack-eligible -- only whole fruit. So I grabbed a banana, and the woman at the register said "Go ahead and take two".

Seemingly any bottled drink is a snack, but please don't try to extend that to beer, as a man at the All-Star Sports did, arguing with a cast member that it should be allowed because he was told that all single-serving drinks qualified.

We used the Dining plan in March when it was still new and the snack options were very limited. However, at the end of the week we still had like 10 snacks left on our cards, so we went to the Pop Century food court to stock up for the trip home. We were getting bottled water and drinks, when I decided to pick up several of the Mickey Mouse Rice Krispy cakes for folks back home. I was planning to pay, but asked at the checkout if those could count as snacks, and the cashier said "yes". These clearly were not "on the plan", but we got them on the plan anyway.

Our experience was similar to other posters. A lot depends on who is checking you out, on what mood they are in, and on how nicely you are asking.

My guess is that this is like a lot of other things at Disney - they walk a fine line between satisfying the customer and tolerating abuses of the system (whatever system).

The snack options are much easier now that at every counter service place that offers the use of snack credits has little icons in their menu. I can't think of exactly what it looks like at the moment, but I believe it was purple. It appears next to anything that can be used as a snack option. I found it incredibly easy and didn't have any questions the entire trip.
