Dining Plan- Quick Service vs. MYW Dining

Hello! We've booked a trip arriving November 29th. we purchased the MYW+Dining but I'm having second thoughts about the plan and wanted some advice.

We've done the dining plan in the past when appetizer and gratuity was included, and are aware of the changes. However, I hate planning the meals because something undoubtedly changes in our schedule and it ends up being a hassle to make it for our ADR's. I'm considering switching our plan to the MYW+quickservice it includes two qs meals, two snacks, and the refillable mugs. There is not a great deal of difference in price, it will save us about $200.00. I was curious who liked the quickservice plan and if it worked well for your family. Thanks!

My mom just did the quick service meal and loved it. They paid out of pocket for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Crystal Palace and 50's Prime Time Cafe. She said that it was great not having to worry about ADR's for the whole trip. They stayed at POFQ and would go back there for dinner. She said she had some great meals at the food court. Since they had the mug they would get bottles of water with breakfast and take them to the parks. You get 2 drinks at breakfast.

Hi!! :wave: I think the best thing to do when considering a dining plan is to first determine what kind of eating habits is best for you and your family. For my DH and I, the TS experience is part of our vacation experience. And I love the character experiences! :lol: Also, my DH and I try to limit our OOP expenses so we are huge fans of having most things paid for with the dining plan. Just pick which is best for your family! Oh - and on a recent thread - did a quick search and can't find it - there is a huge list of items that are snack credits!! Maybe that will help you make a decision. :wave:

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty certain we're going to switch to the quickservice plan, I think it's a good value and I like the fact that the mugs are included. I'm not big on eating large meals and trying to conquer the parks anyway. If anyone has any further positive advice on the quickservice plan I would love to hear it. Thanks!

we couldn't use all of our table service credits in dec so goofys candy company allowed us to convert them to snack credits. we didn't get near what they were worth, but it was better than leaving everything there.

What are the price per person for the different dining plans? I am going with someone who needs to have snacks or meals every 2 hours for medical reasons. Have to keep blood sugar up all day along because all the walking could make it drop if not eating that much.

Quick Service Plan adult price is $30 per night per adult. (unsure on kids as mine are grown). MYW Dining Plan (1 TS, 1 QS, 1 Snack) is $40 per night per adult.

Does the free dining deal include all the different plans or just the quick service and basic plan? I may think about booking for September if the quick service plan is free, I think it would be a great deal (obviously) and more flexible for us than making ADRs.

Yes you can downgrade your TS credit and use it at a QS, you just can't use a QS credit at a TS restaurant.

You can take the mugs into the parks but you can NOT use them at the QS in the parks. They can only be refilled for free at the resort QS.

I never take mine into the parks, just use it at my resort. I usually use a snack credit to get a bottle of water and drink that in the parks. I can't drink Florida water.

We cant ever use all of our table service meals because 3 little kids but we use our extra table service for counter service which is fine because it's free dining

I wouldn't necessarily expect them to abide by that list. Last time I was there, which was December 09, they were cracking down on what could and could not be bought with a snack credit. You could only use the snack credit for 'single-serve' items, like a rice crispie mouse head, you couldn't use it for anything from Goofy's Candy Company (snacks in a bag) because those can be shared.
