Dining Plan on a Split Stay

We are splitting our next stay between two resorts, Sun-Wed and Wed-Sat. Because of this, we technically have two dining plans, one for each reservation. I am curious for those who have done this, how was that transition day handled? We want to make sure that we use all the credits from the first plan before the second one kicks in on Wednesday. Will the second plan automatically kick-in when we check in to our second hotel or is there a time on Wed when the transition will occur? I am paranoid about losing credits. Any advice is appreciated!

You must use all credits, including snack credits, from the first plan before you can use any from the second plan.

Sometimes the CMs at a TS restaurant can split the check to use up credits from the first plan, and then to use credits from the second. Otherwise it can be sorted out later ( see below). But the QS and snack credits must have been used up first.

Some people report it makes the switch over easier if you physically check in to the second resort. So if you plan to be dining in a park using the credits from plan 2, then best plan to go to the 2nd resort first. At worst, if this isn’t going to be possible for you, you may have to pay OOP with your magic band and then have the front desk CMs refund them and sort out the credits.

Credits expire at 23:59 on each check-out day. You won’t lose credits unless you haven’t used them by then.

Dining plans are by nights stayed. First half Sun-Tues credits end Wed at midnight, Wed-Sat (if checkout is Sat credits end Sat at midnight, if checkout is Sun then Sun at midnight).

Based on your dining plans - where you're planning to dine, not the "Dining Plans" - what are the odds you'll have meals left over on the first "Dining Plan" on checkout day in the first place?

gosh...I wish I could tell you it was an easy transition, but I have done this twice and it was quite the ordeal both times. Your first reservations does not technically end until 12 mid night the day you are checking out. You can use your meal credits up until then. Your second reservation should really start on the day you check in to your second reservation but because your first reservation does not
leave the system until mid night it makes it an ordeal. I have had to get restaurants to call and have really had to go to the front desk at resort more than one time to get it straight. Next time I go, I will not do the meal plan on my first reservation....or make sure I have no credits left on first reservation. Good luck!!!

Thank you all for this. It makes me feel much better to know the credits at least last until midnight. We never do a great job of using snacks, and this will help make us more diligent in getting through those credits on the first plan up front.
