Dining Plan / Magic Your Way / AP Question...

Question:

For our trip in Decemeber I purchased our trip through WDTC for 6 night Magic Your Way Package w/ Dining. Now I think I am on the cusp of purchasing into the DVC in the next 30-60 days.

My question is this - would it be possible to trade in my 6 day park hoppers and have them applied to an Annual Pass the first day we got into MK (day 1) - AND - also keep the dining for our trip.

Any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure there won't be a problem. We purchased the package with dining for our trip next week. We don't need the tickets, so we only purchased 1 day base tickets for each member of our family. I will be using mine towards the renewal of my AP while down there.

I don't think you can do it. If your trip is in Dec you do not have enough time to cancel it and get your money back. They have changed the refund requirements. The closing for DVC usually takes 30 days but can take up to 90 depending if you are buying directly from disney or a resale. I don't think you would have enough time before your trip. Sorry. I think the OP just wants to know if they can take the tickets from their package and use them towards the purchase of AP's since they will be buying into DVC. (Unless I read the question wrong).

Thats right. We're going in Dec and staying at the Contemporary but we might buy into DVC say in Jan hence why I see an AP being of value and why I would want to apply to park hopper credits to AP but still have the dining plan.

You might want to wait to buy the AP until you are a DVC member though, since they get like 100 dollars off them.

They said that I would need to wait until all of my dining credits were used, otherwise they would be wiped out. It may be different if you upgrade before you use anything on your ticket, as we already been using our ticket and meal plan. You can wait until the very last day of your trip, after you use all of your meal plan credits. They will give you the full price of your tickets to upgrade to your AP.

Made perfect sense. Exactly the answer I was looking for - I did not want to cash in my hoppers day 1 and find out that I would be paying for meals out of pocket.

Yep...I second this! :wave:
When DH and I went in Sept, we wanted to upgrade to an AP our first day, before we used anything. They told us the same thing....we had to wait until all of our DDP credits were used or else we would have lost them. So, at the end of the last day, we went to Guest Services in Epcot and upgraded to APs, got full credit for our park hoppers.

Side note: we also had to get new keys made when we got back to the resort as exchanging also wiped out our keys. But, no big deal. I had CM in Epcot call our resort to let them know since we would be getting back late.

Ok, so I have a question. I have an AP and my DW does not. We are going for 8 nights in Feb and I want to try the dining plan. If I buy the PH ticktes for our stay to get the dining plan, then can I use the money I spent on BOTH of our tickets towards her getting an AP? As long as I do not use mine then would they have a problem? I know that is a little confusing but I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Let me see if I am understanding this...you can use all of the days on your hopper and still get credit towards an AP? Do they give the full amount of the original hopper price or discount that towards your AP? All of this is assuming you are on the dining plan to start with...right?

I see noone answered your question...
As long as your ticket hasn't expired (i.e. within 14 days of first use, or *during* the last admission day on the ticket, whichever comes first), they will apply the price toward an AP. You pay the difference in price between the two. Then they back-date the starting date of the AP to be the first day you used the MYW ticket.
