Dining Plan for 3 days?

Is it worth it? I've budgeted about 325 dollars for food, but I wonder if some of the places I want are on the plan?

Here's the Restaurant List. If your budget for each individual is $325, you stand to save a fair bit if you use DDP and your eating fits the plan.

The plan allows one Table Service, one Counter Service and one snack per day per person. If you eat at only Table Service restaurants, the plan is worth it if your meals average more than the ~$40/day the plan costs. When we went, I got more in food and covered gratuities than the plan cost me and we managed to use all the various credits we had. That did take a bit of planning to accomplish, but it can be done.

There are menus on this site http://www.wdwmagic.com/menus.htm with prices. Have a look.

You also have to make sure you give yourself time to sit and eat those three days. Since you are only going to be there for a short time you just have to conisder if you will have enough time to do everything you want to do in the parks and still have time to eat those meals.

Ya the biggest concern is stress. I don't want to have to spend the entire trip worried that I have to use up all the credits, or make it to certain restaurants at certain parks. It's a matter of convenience. If I have to spend like 50 extra bucks a day (total) to be my own decision-maker, I think that's worth it.

Plus some restaurants I already made reservations at (Cinderella's Royal Table, Sci-Fi Dine in, etc)...they probably cost more right?

CRT counts as two Table Service each. I paid out of pocket for that one. The list I posted for restaurants has a number "2" for the restaurants that charge two credits.

Heck, even if it was a day trip, the Dining Plan would save you oodles of money!

Note that you can bypass a snack or two over the three days, so you can "buy" some snacks for the ride home! (One last Mickey bar would be a welcome treat. :D)

ON the other hand, when I and my partner go (two adults) we never use the meal plan because we find it simply doesn't fit our dining needs...we usually grab something in the comissary on the way to the morning bus (3 bucks for a soda and granola bar) and have a quick counter service lunch (10 bucks) then a sit down meal either at Downtown Disney (most restaurants there do NOT accept the meal plan) or one of the upscale restaurants in Epcot or the resorts (None of the restaurants we tend to go to accept the meal plan -- V&A, Bistro de Paris, California Grill, Jiko) The meal plan just does not make sense for us.
