Dining Plan + BUK Discount Help

OK everyone I'm reaching out for help. I booked my room a few weeks ago at Port Orleans Riverside and was told I could call back up to 4 day of arrival and add the dining plan. I tried calling last week and the resrvation system was down and again I was told "not to worry:just make sure you call back at least 4 days before arrival and you can add the dining plan". We are arriving on August 14 so we are now about 14 days away and I called back to add the dining plan and I'm now told I cannot not add it unless I was to forfeit my room discount and pay full rack rate. I'm very frustarted as this is not what I was originally told and I'm now left with the choice of giving up the discount or go without the dining plan. What frustrates me most is I was told I could add the dining plan at any time! I'm looking for help to see if anyone has any comments or suggestions....HELP Thanks,

Was the discount you received a Room Only discount? If it was that would be the reason why you can't add the dining plan on to it. If you are having issues you can always talk to a supervisor or guest services agent at reservations.

I would call back and talk to someone else. I booked a trip last year and called back to add a discount code and to add the dinning plan and they let me do it.

Also, I just booked a room with that same code and I asked about the dining plan and they were going to let me do it. Call again!!

The discount said room only, but they were going to let me use it.

I'm sorry you were given misinformation on your last call. If you are currently on the BUK offer, you can upgrade to the MYW+Dine package (ask for discount package code ZJZ) up to 4 days prior to arrival. As long as you want the same room category and Resort you will not encounter any availability issues, as this is simply a package upgrade modification call.

Remember you must add both a Magic Your Way Theme Park Ticket in addition to the dining plan for everyone in the room and pay for the reservation in full at the time of booking. Your current deposit cannot not be transferred to the package so you will receive a full refund of what was already paid.

Thanks for the infomation I have received so far. One thing I will add is that when we booked the room we also booked 10 days of park tickets. Does this mean I am still "room only" if I booked 10 days of park tickets at the same time?

If your booking is room-only and you separately purchased tickets, you wouldn't be able to add Dining Plan without buying more tickets. I'm guessing that since they told you you could add DDP that you're booked as a MYW package, in which case you should be able to add DDP without having to refund the original deposit and re-book, since you're already on a package. [JP's instructions above apply if you are booked room-only, but not if you have a MYW package]

Not knowing for sure how your original reservation was booked, I can't be certain what your solution is... Other than to call back and talk to a different CM and if they can't/won't fix it, ask for a manager.

Not wanting to sound like I'm lecturing you, I'm really not... It's important to know exactly what you're booking when you call and understand exactly what options are available and exactly how they apply or how they impact what you already have before you hang up.

Sorry I'm talking to Disney ans I'm typing. When I booked I booked a room for 10 nights and a 10 day park pass for all 5 of us. At this point I was told I can add the dining plan at any time as long as I do it 4 days prior to arrival. I actually called last week to do it and their reservation system was down and again I was told that as long as I called back within 4 days of arrival I would be fine. What I am now being told is because the discount promo ended on July 28th...I'm too late.

Thanks for all the input. I called back this morning and adding the dining plan was done without any problem. When I called I asked for a Guest Services Agent. The CS on the phone asked what the problem was and I gave him a quick rundown. He didn't see why it should be a problem and put me on hold. A few minutes passed...he returned and told me that it would be fine to add it. So once again, I thank everyone for your help. :sohappy:
