Dining on MVMCP Night

My question is actually two-fold. We are a middle aged couple, no kids, going for our first MVMCP. We are veterans of many summer trips to the world but never at this time of year. Also we have stayed at the WL several years in a row, but for this winter trip we decided to cut costs a little and do the POFQ. First I am looking for suggestions on how to spend the first day including where and when to dine. I'm worried about timing my evening meal so I don't hit mobbed monorails trying to get to MK. The second worry I have is the fact that my wife is a diabetic. Will we be able to find something for her to snack on till midnight if nessecary if her sugar plunges (other than cookies and hot chocolate)? And speaking of the free hot chocolate, it doesn't by any chance come in a sugar free variety does it? I appreciate any advice ya'all Have!

Its the most magical place on earth

Its been a while since I was at the VMCP, but I think its mostly sugar cookies and regular hot chocolate. However, if you tell someone of your dietary needs, Disney always tries to make accomodations when they can. Went a long time ago with my father who was diabetic and every place we ate, he mentioned it... they made special desserts for him (not on the menu) to accomodate him. I would call ahead and tell them of your concern and maybe they can get some sugar-free hot chocolate for you... as for the snacks you might want to see if they can stash some fruit for you.

Enjoy and you'll love the VMCP... we had a great time when we went.

Did Knee,

Congrats on getting to schedule a visit this time of year. I'm sure you will be wondering why you've waited so long to do it...it is truly magical.

To your questions, first, it would be helpful to know when you are going. Crowds vary greatly, with the best times (crowdwise) being earlier in the season and on weekdays (Tues./Thurs). In addition to free cookies and hot chocolate, other food places are open, so you can get other foods. As was suggested, you may be well off to give a call to Disney, explain your situation and see what options they suggest. As for other restaurants, they are excellent about meeting all sorts of dietary needs.

Check out the following link for other holiday festivities. There is a lot to see throughout the world, especially Epcot and MGM.
