Dining in World Showcase

Where is Teppan Edo and what food.

Teppan Edo is the main Table/Counter Service restaurant located in the Japanese World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The Sushi they offer there have recieved rave/great reviews, but I don't like sushi. However, I tried their Steak and Shrimp meal and it was very delicious. Cooked just how I wanted it. The restaurant itself has a unique atmosphere to.

I say take the walk to one of the epcot resorts. The yachtsmen (located at the yacht club) and shulas (dolphin) both serve good steaks and the bluezoo also over at the dolphin has some pretty decent seafood selections.

My family has never enjoyed any of the TS in China or Japan. I don't go to Disney for hibachi or generic Chinese food I can get in any town in the country :-/ That said, my favorites are:

San Angel Inn (Mexico)- Can't beat the location and views when eating but don't expect typical Tex Mex fare. Good food though, and the full drink menu from La Cava is served here.

Biergarten (Germany)- something for everyone. They do have the weirder looking German sausages and such but theres very normal, quite good, food for everyone there. Great show and big beers while you eat too. I've grown to love this spot.

Rose and Crown (UK)- you can get simple things like a burger to Scotch eggs and more traditional English foods. So you can please every palette I think. Gets BUSY at night though with people trying to get the coveted tables for Illuminations, so be careful of that.

Via Napoli (Italy)- makes authentic Naples style pizza which is the big draw here. They do pastas and things too, but the pizza is the big catch.

you haven't been to EPCOT before...have you?
82'or 83',85,86', 87', 92', 95' , 2010 3 separate visits. That how I know about the frozen Grand Marnay and the not so great Chinese and Japanese. We never ate there in the early years. I do enjoy the smoked turkey legs. I have had them other places like at fairs and outdoor art show, but the EPCOT ones are the best. Love Illuminations! AA is so incredible to me. Just have not had a good food experience there. Ate in the revolving place in The Land. It was just eh. Love the queue for Nemo! Old Living Seas had more animals. Manatees are the cutest! I like to park hop from WDW. to MK! Monorail riding is enjoyable. So fun to run around WDW and be free!

The sushi that is served in EPCOT (Both at the TS & QS places) is made somewhere else & brought in. If you have a special request like "No avocado" they cannot accomodate. For sushi, the best bet is to take a walk or a boat ride from the International Gateway to the Swan and go to Kimono's. Everything is made fresh there, and the food is usually really good. In addition to sushi, they also offer some non-raw fish appetizers as well as salads and soups. I can attest that the tempura platter & the gyoza are both excellent. They also have karaoke after 9pm on most nights. We usually leave before that gets started.

In World Showcase, here are my favorites:
Via Napoli (Italy) - I really like the pizza here. The pizza here is the closest I've found to the pizza I had in Rome from a trip a couple of years back. The Calamari is also good.

Tangerine Cafe (Morocco) - Love the shwarma platters!

Les Chef de France (France) - Some people love this place, others not so much. I've eaten here probably 6 or 7 times and always had a good experience.

Boulangerie (France) - I lover this place since they re-did it. The old version had good food, but the line was always long & it was kind of claustrophobic inside. The new place expanded the space and the menu. Had a lyonnaise salad and a garlic roll on my last visit. Awesome.

Beirgarten (German) - My husband & I like this place, but if German food isn't your thing, I would skip.

Yorkshire Fish & Chips (England) - Good fish & Chips. Menu in Rose & Crown looks good, but the last time I ate here it was over 12 years ago.

Oh, man. When EPCOT first opened it sort of sucked. We were all 18 or 19 years old, and all we did was complain. "We want Mickey" EPCOT sure has improved from the early days. Also I am a grown up. Or well, sort of a grown up.;)

Since you're interested in sushi, I'm throwing in my second on Kimonos over in the Swan. It's a pleasant ten-minute walk from the International Gateway to the hotel, and it's where you will find the best sushi on property. Nowhere else comes close, except for maybe California Grill, but that remains to be seen now that their sushi chef has retired and the restaurant is going through a complete overhaul. Kimonos won't disappoint. It is not, however, on the dining plan. So, if you choose to eat there, and you're using points, you will have to pay out of pocket. Also, if you hate karaoke, go before 7 PM. Once they start up that stage, it can get pretty loud and annoying in there.

I haven't had a bad meal in Epcot! My favorites are probably San Angel Inn (more for the ambiance), Restaurant Marrakesh, and Tutto Italia.

Okay, have you been to EPCOT? Better than MK? My sort of grown up self was wondering. Here is a tough one who is cooler Donald Duck or Goofy? They both have their issues, but who is cooler?

That is a tough one...because I always vote for the underdog...and poor Donald always gets played. But he's too hot headed to be cool..where as Goofy, well, he some how wins in the end...and that's pretty cool
