My friend has a Camera that when he takes pictures, the entire picture is black and white except for a color that he chooses. So, he can select that in a picture, he only wants the red to come out, and it'll be black and white except for what is red in the picture. What is this feature called and which cameras can I find it on? Thanks!

Photoshop?? I've never heard of that feature and not sure that it's even possible unless it's maybe a 3 CCD chip video camera where they could set the blue and green chip to monochrome and the red chip to red, but if that were the case, only red, blue and green would be selectable colors. Also, if there is such a camera, how does it differentiate between different shades of colors? I don't think this is possible and if so, it'd be better to just ask your friend. :veryconfu

No, she's right - the camera does it. It's a feature on some Canons - I'm not sure what it's called.

Edit: Check here for an explanation from Canon.

Not old, just vintage.
Yep. My Cannon camera does this. I think it is in one of the 71478932 menus under "color picking." I have only played around with it a few times. It is a fun effect but I'd rather just do it with photo editing software afterwards.

Yeah, its that Canon color emphasis option. Much easier then just doing it in photoshop. I know its on the SD1000 (i just bought one for my GF) which is a fun lil camera, but few manual features. Takes a good picture tho.
