Did anyone every take a trip to WDW alone?

Have always wanted too but my wife doesn't like the idea. I only live a 4 hour drive away though. I always think about just leaving one morning right after she leaves for work and driving down and staying for only a few hours and making it back before she figures out where I have been. Might not seem worth it for only a few hours at a park but I think it would be fun anyway. That's about the only way I am making a solo trip.

I been to Disney myself many times.

It is great right from the start of the day, when you decide which park you will visit to the end.

You are the king :king: of your vacation.

I did in June of '05. Rained a little but the attendance in the parks (even MGM during Star Wars Weekends) wasn't that bad. I got to do what I wanted, when I wanted. My best moment during that trip: Adventurers Club (R.I.P.) for the first time.

I guess the question I was asking about resorts was like this: I heard from here to Stay On Property and not being familar with the area, I also would not have a car, so I wondered what transportation was like at the Value Resorts. From the pictures that I see, they look like a new Motel 6 but mostly, they just SCREAM at me even in the picture with the big bowling pin, big soccer ball, etc. The one that "screams" least is All Star Music. I was worried about being tired in a noisy room after being "parked out" all day. Also, I would like to eat at least 1 meal over 4 days in a restaurant but would CS (fast food?) it other days. I just wonder if they would be noisy/crowded. I asked for quote on a "moderate" resort and it was only 150 less then a Deluxe, there is much more between "value" and "moderate". But at the same time, why spend more than I need to? Also, do the "values" have the Magical Express because that seems to be the only way from the airport.

One more question, I found that Grand FLoridian is the most expensive place there - what makes that so, are the faucets gold plated?:veryconfu

Oh, one more thing, I don't think I will stop at Journey into Your Imagination with Figment, just from the You tube videos I can't belive what they did!! Ghostwood Estate at Kennywood is much better. Is the original all in the landfill? Why would Disney do that?

I am thinking of doing this, too, in March even though the DH and I are going in 31 days. He is not as into WDW as I am and I am killing myself trying to think of someone to go with so I can take advantage of this 7 for 4 deal. So I booked us in and will try to work on him. If he still refuses to go I will go by myself, I think. I like to share the parks with people I love and know but I am also pretty outgoing when I need to be. I like to talk to new people so I think I will be okay. I probably will skip TS as I have a hard time sitting down to eat if I am alone. I bring a book and like to people watch but I am worried people will think I am a freak for watching their family, etc. :king:

While I agree the exterior of the value resorts are...vibrant, inside the rooms are very subdued and relaxing. If you look here, you can scroll down a little and see the interior of the rooms. You can also view the interiors of the other value resorts too. Just follow the links on the left side.

As far as noise, you will have that at all the hotels. When you have that many overstimulated, hyped up children in one location noise is going to happen. That said, I have never experienced it being loud enough to interfere with my sleep.

As far as amenities, yes, the values have far less when compared to the moderate and deluxe hotels. That said, how much are you really going to be at the hotel? When I go solo I get up around 8 or 9 and go to the parks and do not come back until 10 or 11 at night. If you are using your room as a place to sleep and shower, the values are the place for you.

They do offer Magical Express, all the hotels have it. As far as bus transport to and from the parks, they run every 15 - 20 minutes. It is the same for the deluxe hotels. I have stayed deluxe hotels and waited just as long for bus as I have at Pop. Heck, I stayed at AKL and waited 15 min for a bus to DAK and they are only 2 miles apart at the most.

The Grand Floridian is the flagship resort. You pay accordingly. It has never appealed to me, so I doubt I ever attempt to stay there.

We still have a hard time figuring out the JII to JIYI refurb. I don't think anyone really understands it.
