Did all Disney has to offer...without the parks

@NelleBelle I think that just might happen sooner rather than later. The gate around the Poly pool was necessary for just that reason. Although there was no gate around the GF pool. I guess because the Poly pool is one of the most popular, and it became a problem with non resort guests using the pool.:(

It's a shame that people have to "bend" the rules for their own enjoyment. That's why Disney has to be so careful for security reasons as well. We thought about using the Disney bus transportation from Downtown Disney rather than paying for the cost of parking, but never did it of course ( when we stayed off site one year... didn't like the times for their shuttle buses/inconvenient). I will not stay off site again, unless I am completely desperate, but that's just me. In other words, I will save money:greedy: and stay on property to be able to have the convenience and the nice amenities. There are so many ways around spending too much money:greedy: on a Walt Disney World vacation, but most of it is "legal". Our last stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge was wonderful! Many non resort guests come to the resort for dining, but they need a reservation. As for using the pool, I wouldn't of course, but I am sure there are people who do. Oh well. If people keep trying to "bend" the rules, then those of us who follow rules will really suffer the consequences. IMHO.:(

If hopping in the pool is so not permitted, they should put the same Security at every pool that there is to enter the parks. Everyone at the resort has a Magic Band. Put security mechanisms at the pools and require scanning them. WDW does not care so why should anyone else. And, if you can identify those people that are at a pool that are not staying at the resort and it bothers you that much, why not turn them in to Disney Security. The answer is you would never know. If that was my biggest concern on my WDW vacation, I would be the most miserable person in the world.
There are signs posted at each resort pool saying the pool is for the resort guests only of that specific resort. I wouldn't say Disney doesn't care - but rather they believe guests can both read and have a conscience. Clearly that is not the case.

And there are speed limit signs posted on all of the roads in the US. I bet you are the ONLY person in the nation that has never gone over it by 1 MPH. And when you do, I am sure you march right to the court house to inform them you are breaking the law, pay the court fines and ticket, and informing your insurance company that you are an unsafe driver. You don't seem all High and Mighty now do you?

So exceeding the speed limit is an amenity that is paid for by some and taken advantage of for free by others?

Awesome comparison.

Yes it is. Our tax dollars are paid to keep the roads lasting for 20-30 years and to keep all drivers safe. You are putting everyone's lives in danger by exceeding it. Statistics have PROVEN speed kills. My DD stepping into the pool after a $200 dinner and drinks is far less damaging.

But thank you for proving my point. I just hope your nose doesn't break too many more lights.

I actually don't speed - for several reasons - but it is hilarious you decided to take that from my post. Why is it that people that are trying to "get away with something" always justify it by pointing out other instances where people try to get away with something. Part of living in a society is following laws, rules, regulations and social customs, however, people feel the need to push the limits and try to get whatever they can for free. I don't - and I find it obnoxious that others do. It's nice that you can classify breaking the rules into what's acceptable and what's not.

Come on guys, seriously. You're treading into DISBoards territory with your vehement righteousness and wanting to crucify the guy. Do I condone the actions, no. But it's not the end of the world that some of you are making it to be. I've stayed at FQ during busy season and the need for seating and pool space is hardly a Black Friday situation.
And remember, all of the lynch mobbers have never cheated on their taxes, jaywalked, parked illegally, sped on a freeway, downloaded music or movies illegally, violated a 'one per customer' policy/posting or ever done anything even slightly 'against the rules (real or imagined). But since it's Disney and THEIR parks and pools and vacations...it's wrong. Why does Disney make folks so self-righteous?.
I agree...it ain't 'right', but let he who is without sin...

Yes, yes, nobody is perfect. We should TRY to be better though. We certainly should not take pride in our misdeeds, unless they are significantly awesome. If you steal an armored truck by actually physically lifting it up and running away with it, I'm buying you a beer, no questions asked. If you say, "I managed to snag $0.67 from the Jerry's Kids box while the cashier wasn't looking; isn't that cool?", I'm a gonna give you the side-eye.

If I lived in Florida is have an AP, so the parks would always be an option. But we do love going to the different resorts and Disney springs. But for us that's just be a tease to make us really wanna go into the parks.

I have self respect. It wouldn't bother me one bit if I am visiting another resort, dropping $200+ for meals and drinks to have my DD be able to jump in the pool if she wanted. Completely justified in my opinion.

Sorry, your reply doesn't make sense, the guests at the resort pay for access to the pool and have to pay for their meals also.

If you really think your actions are justified then before you jump in the pool how about going to the front desk and tell them so and see if they agree with you. Rules are rules and it ultimately up to management to decide what's allowed, not you.

I've always found it interesting how some people want to act like they are some how above the rules but do so by sneaking around instead of proving they are justified by being able to challenge to local authority (management) and winning their case. Until you challenge the rule and will you are just low class with no self respect or consideration of others...

Besides, if you'd do this then I really don't think you'd be dropping $200+ on meals...

I'd like to go save me some money next time too. Maybe the next time I'll look up where the OP is staying and I'll crash in his room, join him on his ADR and I can take advantage of the things hes paid for.

Maybe we can take his car for a quick trip to Miami?

I don't do anything you listed as an example and if I did it was not blantantly on purpose then bragging about it on a public forum. I think cheating on taxes is a felony. Not very smart to post about it just to prove a point on a Disney forum. I know you didn't say you did but it is what was implied.
