Diapers?

Should I plan on packing diapers for the week of our vacation or is there someplace I can buy them close by? We will not have a rental car so we really can't go off Disney property.

You could either get a taxi to take you to the store for a quick little trip or you could ship a box of diapers & whatever else you may need to your resort so it'll be there waiting for you. Not sure how much that is or how long it takes (matter of days), but I'm sure someone on here knows more. I know some who have shipped things like diapers and snacks. Doesn't take up room in luggage and nothing to really bring back except for the few that weren't used. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

It's been a looong time, but I recall having trouble finding the "right" diapers while travelling, so always brought my own. (They were either the wrong brand, or the wrong size) I would expect that shipping abox would 1. make sure you have the ones you want 2. save money in the long run, as the ones onsite are very expensive, and you have to factor in the cost of a cab to get to a store offsite. I usually filled a suitcase with all of my bulky baby things, except for what I needed for 24 hours. (In case of lost luggage, flight delays, etc)

Definitely take them. They are SO expensive at the resorts, and you won't want to spend the time or money to get to an off-site store.

Do the math on how many you think you will need, and pack them straight in the package (they are usually very compact that way). You can use the extra room in your luggage for souvenirs on the return trip!

Have fun!

WDW has Huggies all over, no Pampers. They are you basic type, no Ultra. I cannot remember the price but I remember thinking that WDW was deliberatly taking advantage of the situation with the overinflated price tag. I pack mine in a zip up duffle and check it. I use the zip ties to close the zippers together and "lock it" and havn't had a problem with the coming open. The duffle folds into itself and I pack it on the way back. Or use it for the smelly puke clothes my DD had changed from due to the tublerent plane ride home. We don't fly anymore because I have a 2 and 3 year old and it is not worth the stress, we drive now. But hopefully my next trip we will be diaper free:sohappy: . Long story short, pack them.

We checked our big stroller with our luggage in a "stroller bag" (also took the umbrella stroller for the airport & first day in park). In that bag, we were able to pack a week's worth of diapers, baby blankets, toys, etc. The bag was HUGE and perfect for those odds & ends which would have taken space in the suitcases.

:)

P.S. Better to take them... who wants to waste precious vacation time running all over looking for diapers??!!

I packed them and hoped it would leave enough space for the stuff I bought. If I hadn't bought so much stuff my plan would have been perfect :)

If you are staying onsite you could have the diapers, wipes, etc delivered to the resort you are staying. http://www.gardengrocer.com We have used them before for the same reason and also the ability to have milk and juice and snacks for in the room and not having to pack everything to take with you

I'm definately going to look into the delivery service that would work great for us so that we can get some other snack items for the kids too. Thanks!

It might be cheaper to buy a big pack of them at home and ship them to the resort where you will be staying. They will be waiting for you when you arrive.

I think the best idea (as others have stated above) is to pack them in a bag (duffle or suitcase) and then you have room for the stuff you buy. Or the dirty clothes. Is it just me, or do dirty clothes seem to take up WAY more room than when they were clean. We usually have the hardest time packing for the trip home. I fold them neatly just like I did for the trip down.

I agree....or maybe we all just don't want to go home so we take less care about the packing:ROFLOL:

We packed some and shipped the rest to us. Worked out great.

That gardengrocer.com is $12 to deliver to shipping and receiving at Disney. You could ship a box of diapers and extra items for less than that.

Diapers

We just got back with two infants. I was told many times Walmart sold out of sizes on diapers so I had our diapers, baby food formula sent ahead by fed ex. It was at the desk when we arrived and helped because of luggage allowance. I was really glad I did this. It actually is cheaper then cab ride to walmnart!

The Huggies (red & white package- BabyFit's, I think) at the resort gift shops are about twice the cost of Wal-Mart or Target, and you only get the small packages. So, definitely try to ship them or pack them in your bags. In the past, we've stuffed ours into my husband's travel golf bag keeping us from having to use space in the suitcases. There was plenty of space in the golf bag. When we have travelled and had to pack the diapers in the suitcase, it makes a nice space for souvenirs or dirty clothes on the trip back home.

Have a great trip!

We pack them. They do take room, but they are pretty light, so shouldn't hurt your overall luggage weight for a flight.

The space they occupied on the way there can be used for souvenirs on the way home.
