Diaper prices in WDW?

I'm considering not packing very many diapers for my child for our week long trip in September and just buying them when I get to the resort. I'm thinking this will cut down on the number of bags I may need to bring for the trip (since you now get charged by the bag).

I'm sure diapers are more at the resort, but are they just ridiculous?

Thoughts? Input? Do you agree with my thinking?

They only sell Huggies in small packages at the resorts and they are expensive (ridiculously so to me) and they don't always have all the sizes. Plus we always used Pampers and the Huggies sizes ran smaller for us, all in all not a great option to me.

You have a couple of options that I know of. First we always pack them in a suitcase and then use the empty space for souvenirs (but we fly Southwest so no bag charges). If you have a car there's a Walmart and several supermarkets very close. People on these boards talk about a place, I think it's Garden Grocer? that will deliver stuff to your resort. I'm not sure about any specific baby delivery places. You could also ship them to the resort...

I hope this helps, have a great trip!

I thought Garden Grocer was pretty expensive for diapers - I looked in to just having them delivered to the Resort instead of putting them in the suitcase. We do use Huggies, and a pack of size 5s, 27 count, was $13.99. On top of that is a delivery charge (I think it's $12??). I paid $10.99 yesterday for the same thing at my local Walgreens, and I knew that was paying too much, too! The actual pack I am taking cost $7.99 at Target - that's a pretty substantial difference over Garden Grocer!

Last year, I ran out of diapers and had to buy them at the market at the Poly. I can't remember how much I paid, but it was definitely a premium price.

This time, I bought a pack and just split it up between the two checked bags, carry on and diaper backpack. It is really not worth the hassle.

We'll be packing diapers as well for our trip cause of the inflated cost at the park. We'll probably have to bring like 60-70 diapers for our trip.

Come on potty training... :)

One thing that we do when we go to Disney is to put Huggies Overnites on our son. They go up from sizes 3 to 6. They hold a LOT more. Even though they hold more, they don't make your child sit in a soaking wet diaper either. Makes it easier than having to change a diaper every hr or two and save on those peeing through the outfit times if you're waiting in line. We've had to use these on our son since he could fit in the size 3 and still use them at night (now is size 6). They are great for traveling since we travel so often. Just another option. Yes, they do cost more, but also hold a lot more as well so you wouldn't need to pack as many.

I would try to pack them also if I were you. Last year we ran out towards the end of the week. We had to drive (we drove down to Disney so we had our car) to Walmart and pick up more because the prices are crazy at the resort for a small pack of diapers.

I'm lucky that I live close enough I drive, but I can tell you the price at the resort is crazy. You can always buy them at home and ship them to your resort yourself. I don't know how much it cost to ship a box of diapers but it's prob. cheaper than what the airline charges for checked bags.

Turner Drugs can deliver those items to the hotel for you for $5.00 fee.

This is exactly what I used to do. Lucky for me I need 1 pull-up for each night now - so I won't be doing the splitting up - but it's definitely worth splitting them up.
