DHS Umbrella Rains Again

I did not see this posted anywhere. MouseExtra has reported that the "Singing in the Rain" Umbrella is back up and running over near LMA. I am happy to hear this, cause I always enjoy the little things that Disney has to offer. This is one place I always try to get a photo of my wife, whenever we're in the studios.

This is good. Although I never ran across it, I heard it was down and that it was doubtful if it will go back up. This is definitely something to look forward too when I go down there next. Thank you!

It's been working for quite a while now - at least since this summer. They usually turn it off in the winter when it gets cold and the Osborne Lights go up.

I love walking by it when no one is near it, gently pressing on the black box on the ground, letting it "rain" and then quietly walking away. You should see how the kids flock to it afterwards! Same goes for the rope by Indy.

Hmmm....it was working back in April when I went. Unless it went down again after that, it has been up since at least then.

Its been up for a long time, August at the very least. I wasn't here this summer, so I don't know if that may have been when it was down.

Kingdom, if I remember correctly, it's located down San Francisco Street, located right next to the big San Francisco facade.

It was indeed working in August. I saw a teenage boy walking in the area, who, believe it or not, saw the square on the ground, but not the umbrella, and walked over to see what the square was for. I think he was expecting a sound effect or something. :ROFLOL:

Kids were standing under it while it was spouting out water during my Oct. 20-26 trip to WDW. I saw it on Monday, Oct. 22.

Confirmed.

Sorry,
It was not there this past January, and I thought maybe it would not be back. As I said in the OP, when reading Mouseextra.com they had a small article and picture about it being up and running. I did not realize that it's up and running for some time.

Thank goodness...for the past three trips my friends and I have been wanting to take a picture next to the Umbrella but it always seems to be missing when we go

Yeah, Figment82, what rope are you talking about? Or can anybody else answer? Thanks in advance.

Near the entrance to the Indy theater there's a well with a rope, a sign on the well says something to the effect of "don't pull rope". If you pull the rope you'll hear a voice in the well, though I don't remember what the voice says.

It was definetly missing in late January, and early February this year. There were also rumors going around that it had been removed permanently. As far as I know nobody had reported it's return, if they did I missed it. So thanks very much for your post. Like yourself my wife, and I enjoy the little things that make WDW so special.

The rope at Indy is great, when you go up to it and grab the rope people look at you like "Look at him fooling around with that, he shouldnt be doing that". Then after you pull it they all come over to see for themselves and after you walk away they are yanking on it.
