DHS DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Every post he's written has the word 'cool' in the title. I couldn't take myself seriously if I had to write this type of drivel for a living. The things people will do just to say they work for Disney is truly mind-boggling.
Well that's the promo they have going: Coolest summer ever.

If you think what he's doing is embarrassing, stooping or selling out, you do NOT want to see the things I'd do to make some extra cash.

Depending on the day of the week seems to be determining if DHS' changes will be detailed at D23. One day it's yes, one day it's no.

I just don't know.

I still remain optimistic.

We will obviously hear about:
-Shanghai. Whatever, but it'll be cool if we go more in depth about some of the rides we haven't seen before.
-Avatar. This is what I'm most excited about, and outside of Shanghai, I doubt Disney wants this overshadowed.

What I would like to hear about:
-Disneyland getting Star Wars and/or Marvel Attractions. This would be great and wet the Star Wars appetite.
-DHS Pixar expansion. This would be huge if they dropped this news. Imagine the Disney fans telling people "Avatar and Pixar in 2017"

What I don't care if they mention:
-DHS name change
-Disney Springs. I like following this with pics but don't care much about "news" until it's done and I see it in person.

What I don't want mentioned:
-Star Wars at DHS. I mean, what's the advantage? The time for a Star Wars land is not now as the park in its current form simply can't handle It. And if they DID think the time was now (please, no)- Even a massive, 3 ride elaborate Star Wars land would be absolutely terrible to go to with the crowds. An entire park's worth of attendence in one land? It'd be like MSEP all day every day with every inch occupied. Kill me now. And if they were planning on teasing for later? Why? So we can say it took 5 years to build? Just announce a little Star Wars something for DL. Give us Pixar (or more?) to handle park capacity and then wow us in 2017 with your "Look how great Shanghai, avatar, and Disney spring was... But look at what's coming to DHS" talk.

Here's a question: New Fantasyland was announced at D23 in 2009, with a "Grand Opening" (ignoring the fact that not everything was ready that day) in December 2012.

Word of the expansion had been slipping out gently for a few years prior, but that summer saw the leak of a document detailing the groundplan for the area.

What I'm wondering is, had Disney had been planning to announce New Fantasyland at that D23 Expo all along, or was it a product of that big, pretty much irrefutable document leak exposing the project? Did they feel the need to get out in front of that, or were they right on schedule with their announcement?

I'm excited about Avatar too. It will be nice if they go into more depth about the rides and the overall theme layout. DAK is my favorite park. Hopefully the show a little teaser trailer of the River of Light show at nighttime with The Tree of Life all lite up. Once Pandora is finished, it will give us an idea of Disney can give us. Just like CarsLand and Mysterious Island. I guess whatever happens, happens. It will be an interesting D23.

Even if little or nothing is revealed about the Star Wars plans for DHS, I think we will hear more about Star Wars plans for Disneyland since Anaheim doesn't need to worry about overshadowing Pandora, Frozen, or Disney Springs. That'll be plenty to drive speculation regarding Florida as there will surely be some overlap in planned attractions.

Any actual attraction announcement would overshadow that. People don't go to WDW for a mall, they go for the parks.

I lived in Europe for almost 5 years, and one thing I learned is that Europeans do not let the weather dictate their happiness as much as we Americans do. Another thing I learned....Americans aren't as popular around the globe as I thought they were.

We could just invade x y z and show them what were good at? ;)

It amazes me that reading about *trigger* OMD closing *end trigger* without fair warning could cause irreparable emotional damage. Then again, maybe it doesn't amaze me that much.

My favorite is when the poster gets berated for not putting trigger in their post or title - the person triggered then triggers the triggerer, and the triggering cycle is repeated.

I think you and Beretta have different opinions on trigger warning...

Not happy with the leaks.

I say screw em...if Rhodes showed up at D23 live and rolled out a DHS attraction list what would happen....nothing...play to the media best WDC at there own game. People at a certain level leveling media can be smart. If you ran your company better maybe people would give more craps.

The death star should never be built. Its so big it deserves to be built in outerspace. They say it would take all the metal on earth to build the death star. Sure it be nice but the exterior of the building would be ugly.

It blows up planets in seconds....your argument is invalid.
