I had no clue there was a Mickey face in the studios.

If I'm honest I was never wowed by graumans Chinese theatre, especially as a cntr piece.... It's a replica of something that isn't that impressive in reality.

It's still there...now it just looks like he's wearing a party hat on the front of his face like a moron.

EDIT -- And one ear is missing again. Google Satellite view shows that they black paint/shingles at Playhouse Disney/Brown Derby are now gone. :(

They should definitely bomb that structure.

My arguments against it for the people who still enjoy it:

1. Its placement is ridiculous.
2. It looks ridiculous. Even if you like the IDEA of the giant sorcerer's hat, the actual hat they built is aesthetically horrendous. It looks very industrial/mechanical with all those seams in it, which are totally inappropriate to the original animation. The tip doesn't sag like the hat, it's basically a big blue cone. There's something overall very cold and corporate about the thing. Polar opposite to the castle, Spaceship Earth and the giant broccoli tree.

Well there are PLENTY of higher-ups that want to keep the hat, but move it out in front of the park where the Christmas tree goes. I'm a fan of this notion.

Except there, it clashes even more with the art deco that is all the entrance area. At least where it is, it's only flanked by bland studio style buildings (as you can't see the freakin theater).

Moving it to the entrance just makes another problem... move it back by the F! theatre or just trash it.

In which it was an object of Mickey's arrogant and envious pride. Even in Mickey's PhilharMagic, it is still an object of Donald Duck's envy. It is not a symbol of something good, but oh so fitting what has become of The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney World.
If you look at it that way, Sorcerers Apprentice could be retroactively seen as fitting metaphor about the Walt Disney Company.

Turn it upside down, paint it orange, send it to DCA Carsland as a Cozy Cone resort prop. Problem solved. In return they send us new management.

You know what would even be cooler? Move the Hat to Century/Animation Drive.

ON Century/Animation drive (blue and yellow dot), so that guests going to Art of Animation or Pop Century via the Osceola Parkway can drive under it. I'm sure little kids would get a kick out of it.

Solution because:
A. It's not a very far move.
B. It can not be seen by guests from either Epcot or DHS.
C. It works with the theming for both Animation and Pop

I enjoy DHS, and my days are never ruined by the presence of the hat, but it needs to go. I would prefer the original look of the park's main strip.

I like it, its just hard to take decent pictures of it. You try to take a cool picture and you have a cut off building behind it... Doesn't frame on the wall so nicely

^^^^ This.

I like the hat, but think it would be better at the entrance....sort of a great entrance way to get you psyched about coming in....

I like the Art of Animation idea. Another idea I had was move it to Downtown Disney. Could work as a beacon to the place...especially seeing as how they have a few dead spaces there they could place it. ;)
