a while back i remember reading that imagineers purposed 3 year refurb to dhs? if so wouldnt disney now owning star wars make this rumor more realistic, it would make sense to get rid of indiana jones and take the soundstage area and possibly american idol ( well all know the show is on life support)out and extend a very well star wars themed area there, move pizza planet over to the pixar expansion and make that area a land devoted to muppets, extend pixar back by lma and add a slimmed down carsland and monsters inc coaster, take little mermaid out and re theme the animation building and make that a disney junior play area ( to include phineas and ferb type show and meet and greet ) i believe all this can be achieved in the three years imagineers are asking for anyone else agree

I think the Star Wars announcement has changed everything regarding the rumored expansion. At least I hope it has.

Moving Pizza Planet would make sense... However, they need to make it look like the actual PP from the movie. With the robots at the door, etc, etc. Oh and make the pizza actually edible.

The pizza is edible. Whether you like it or not is another thing. But people eat the pizza...so it is edible already.

I would think this deal has been in the works for a bit...Lucas himself was prepping for the last three episodes a few months back (according to Mark Hamill)...anything is possible, but based on Disney's recent level of expansion, we would probably see one or two rides/show type situation, a gift shop, a food place, and a heavily themed bathroom...

But the crowd would still go wild!!

I would imagine there are a whole bunch of SW's blue sky concepts sitting at WDI collecting dust that can be fasttracked

Why not expand on Indiana Jones? Maybe put in a coaster (wasn't there talk of a mine train along the lines of the scene from Temple of Doom years back?), after all it is a part of Lucasfilm as well.

well it would result in 3 rides altogether with Star Tours already there...

Again, not clear how owning LucasFilm changes the theme park rights situation. The fact the Hyperspace Hoopla exists strongly indicates Disney has had carte blanche to use SW characters any way they see fit all along. If they haven't built a SW Land yet, I don't see why owning the characters outright would change their minds.

I have been saying for awhile that the Indy franchise would be a great add at DAK. Now nothing stands in the way of that if they choose.

The possibilities created through aquiring the Lucus IP's are mind boggling to say the least.

Disney owns the Star Wars franchise now. They are going to make Episodes 7,8 & 9, and possibly spin-off films as well. They want to please all of the fans, so Lucas will be a "creative advisor", and the films will be in the vein of the prior films. FOX, I believe, still owns the merchandising rights for the first Star Wars film, (George had to cut some deals to keep the film on track), but other than that, I think Disney has the right to build whatever Star Wars land/attractions they want without having to pay anybody a dime.
