I mean, they almost never use this "expo" to make big announcements anyway, and they've been releasing smaller announcements on the blog without using an expo.

I am thinking they are recalibrating how they release info. People usually expressed disappointment in previous years anyway.

I can see the 5 minute video updates for Tokyo, Shanghai/Hong Kong and Paris happening, and a 30 minute panel on Disneyland. What is the WDW new going to come under? Part of Our World? Disney Eats and just new food coming to the parks?

There generally is a ton of new things announced at Destination, this isn't the expo, not sure why people are reading into this that it means they are cutting stuff

(Though also feel Disney did maybe set expectations too high when calling this the biggest ever, etc)

I less I am misreading this it means the general queue will be outdoors, which feels, um, not great for August

They didn’t even need to announce anything wholly new we just needed updates on all the vague announcements from last D23.

Yup - and they could mix that in (like share more about Villains Land during the Villains session, etc)

Could also have some exhibits around/in the hall ways with models or concept art (like at DD23 4 years ago they had the Guardians ride vehicle, as an example)

definitely could see some info on Villains Land during the Villains section. The Part of Our World section is only 20 mins so not sure what it will be, but maybe

I feel like the Part of Our World panel could be for Disney World updates.

I think we may have figured it out. Creating the Happiest Place on Earth is definitely Disneyland and I'm sure they'll fit in details during the Japan, China, and France 5-min segments. I'd argue that we'll get a Villains update during the Villains panel and then general updates across property during the Part of Our World panel.

What is the pivot? Disney announced some panels with unclear themes on some of them, people assume (rightfully so) that some of the panels that match certain themes might include talking about specific projects because obviously??

They sure seem excited to tell us about the totally concrete and finalized plans for the Muppet replacement which should open next year or early 2027 at the latest because they’re building as fast as they can.

I believe with the pummeling they've taken, they've scaled back the amount of What If/Blue Sky fluff sessions.
