It’s pretty odd that before WDW got the Hatbox Ghost D23 had a special appearance by the ghostly apparition of Marty Sklar imploring the panelists to “keep my name out of this”

I would imagine part of the goal is to redo the EPCOT flyover at the end to align with the new look of World Celebration.

I think that's probably the only goal, unfortunately -- I'm not expecting them to fix all the other problems, much less create a new film that's as good or better as the California one. Thought I said that above, but then I realized this is being discussed in two separate threads.

Oh yeah, I have no problem with them bringing it over for a bit. I just hope it's so they can fix the world movie (or, even better, create a new one).

They said it was for the Disney 100th which is being celebrated at Epcot, so I wouldn't expect any work done to Around the World ... this think this is a fun like extra for th anniversary

Edit: though good point about updating the Epcot ending to the redone World Celebration

Oh, that is a good point - it does like ok very out of date at this point

This will let them capture the finished project and then add it to Around the World for into the new Year

Bruce Vaughn is definitely a divine intervention for the direction of Animal Kingdom. I could not imagine how much the previous plans were being pushed until he came back. I think central America has been a very wanted location for a long time, and it only makes way more sense to add it than any other land.

To clarify, Encanto is set in South America. I believe they mentioned Central and South America in the presentation though

Indeed, they reference the Northern part of South America and the Southern part of Central America settling on calling it the Tropical Americas.

Remember, the park is secretly and actually Disney's Jungle Kingdom.

I know it's a very unpopular opinion but I do think they did themselves a disservice by calling it Animal Kingdom as anything they add that doesn't fit that exactly gets bashed.

If it was "Disney Adventure Kingdom" (realizing they wouldn't be naming too close to Islands of Adventure) or something similar, but mostly animal based (like having a tagline of some kind) it would have given them more leeway.

We're in an airport to ride a hang glider that traverses hundreds or thousands of miles.

None of it makes sense.

That's a different argument. I wasn't talking about the conceit of the ride itself making any sense -- just that a ride about flying around world locations makes more sense in EPCOT than a ride that takes place entirely in California.

Although in the Land location, it's a bit strange that it focuses so much on manmade landmarks and not just different natural environments.

Just go the full way and call all four parks “Magic Kingdom North, South, East, and West” and then you won’t have to be bothered by all of this needlessly limiting “theming”.
