5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
I love Wall-E -- don't think it works for Mission: Space, though.

Imagine thinking you’re getting “something of substance” from…Josh D’Amaro

I said this in another thread yesterday, but if Josh D'Amaro doesn't announce major park expansion at Destination D23 this Saturday, as in acreage expansion that is meaningful and not just reskinning existing stuff built in the 1960's-1980's, we will know he is a hollow and worthless leader. In tight pants.

This is probably a reach, but... I find the timing interesting that Matt Ouimet just quit the Cedar Fair board effective immediately.

Haven't really seen that talked about but would definitely be of interest to the Disneyland fans who remember him and think he could do some real good if he was brought back to run the parks.

Really? That's interesting.

The WDW folks won't know much about him, but he was truly the man that saved Disneyland just in time for its 50th Anniversary and set it upon its path in 2006 to fix DCA and heal the wounds left open from the Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harris era. He was also a genuinely nice guy who got stuff done and understood the importance of the Parks.

Heading to O-town now from Boston.
Bringing a surprise for fellow Destination D attendees…..free giveaways.
Will share more info later.
😎

Hey @TP2000 !
I am currently at your favorite ‘third world communist prision’ airport!

Love this recreation of the Logan Tower in the kids play area…..
Almost makes it worth spending some time here waiting for my flight!

God bless you, dear lady.

How is Logan nowadays? Did I ever tell you the story of how I tried to board a flight there in its circa 1989 Communist Bad Old Days version when suddenly the New Kids On The Block landed and deplaned and I was surrounded by a gaggle of screaming teenage girls from Revere with hairdo's hairsprayed up to the ceiling? It was awful. But somehow, even then, hysterical. 🤣

These are my predictions, I’m preparing to be wrong.

WDW-Edition:
  1. Tiana Bayou Adventure details
  2. Epcot nighttime show name and details
  3. JoW opening date
  4. AK new attraction confirmation
  5. Tiana’s Palace (or Place) confirmation
  6. Figment M&G intro
  7. More details about Poly DVC
  8. New characters at DHS Galaxy Edge coming

Geez. Is that what we've come to now?

We're hoping for simply more info on minor stuff already announced, plus a reveal of upcoming meet n' greets and announcements of the color of the drapes in future timeshare rooms? That's kind of sad, don't you think?

No need to wait until Saturday. I can assure you that is exactly what Josh is.

I now believe that when Epic Universe opens to roaring success and Disney have nothing to counter that's when Iger will throw Josh under the bus

Spoiler Alert: It's a walk through of Moana Journey of Water and a cupcake. Plus a glass of water.
Very likely, yes, but hoping for something a little more than that.
I already have a Cast Preview booked with a friend to experience the Journey, so it would be nice if the D23 folks offered something else or in addition to.

Anyone attending the event who is a CM has probably already experienced the water themed walkthrough, and I would like to think something more would be offered to counter that.
We shall see.

As I have mentioned earlier in the thread, I am not expecting anything major to go down.
I am looking forward to the couple of the panels and the 60 years of Disney Animatronics display.

This is what Destination D is pretty much.
Small scale stuff…rarely if ever any major announcements.

The marketing push regarding the ‘exclusive shopping opportunites’ is high with this one as well.
Yeah, there is a push during the lead up to the Expo as well…so it is just standard Ops.

Oh my gosh TP, that is a great story!
First time hearing that one!
🤣

Logan Airport is as iit has always been it seems…although the Delta Terminal A building is pretty modern and swag by Logan standards.
Term E is pretty nice too since it’s complete remodel and refresh a few years back.
Still nothing as wonderful as Long Beach or SNA…those two are utter luxury compared to the ol’ ‘prision’!
No contest.

The New Kids did a big concert here, I think it was last year, at the TD Garden here in the city.
All of those former Revere teenagers were probably there with their own teenage daughters screaming at the show!

I don't know, but I think confirming plans for AK new attraction is significant. Maybe that's just me?

Are we expecting too much from these events?

I think people are hoping for a lot from Saturday because last year's Parks Panel was such a dud.

If last year hadn't been such a car crash everyone would just be expecting this to be the fun smaller event it usually is.

I think we are all going to be disappointed.
