With ALL the great advice..if you cannot get "shuttle" service and you do stay offsite, just park your car at Downtown Disney and ride a shuttle to the park to save on parking fees, and GOOD LUCK!

That doesn't work. DTD buses only goes to resorts, they don't go to parks, and they don't go to the TTC. So you then you have to take another bus, boat or walk to the park in question. Saves you 12 bucks, but you're then waiting for 2 modes of transportation.

You can be "smart" about it - for instance, wait for a bus to the Contemporary so you can walk to the MK, or a bus to Beach Club if you want to walk to Epcot...but what if those buses aren't as quick?

So you opt to take the first bus that comes along, go to the first resort it goes to, and then bus from there to the next park. Again, you're waiting for 2 buses instead of one. And then at the end of the day, you're waiting for 2 buses (or walking to a nearby resort if possible and THEN taking of the day), when you really want to get out.

Are you the type that likes to go back to your hotel in the afternoon and then return to the parks? Are you sure you'll get a parking space at DTD when you return? And are you psyched to wait for two modes of transportation again?

All that? To save 12 bucks? When you're on vacation and every second counts?

Check the Radisson Lake Buena Vista. It's number ONE on the TripAdvisor forum and the prices are great. I am staying there this next September. Lake Buena Vista is full of great restaurants and shopping centers (even a Walmart!) and if one can call it that way, its more upscale than Kissimmee and its 192 street.

We stay offsite but we use our own car. The shuttles tend to go from motel to motel and when they are filled go on to the parks. It could take a while both ways, so you'd need to take that waste of time into your plans.
