Did I offer my opinion on Pirates before? I was against the recent changes although the Jack Sparrow addition didn’t bother me. If I was 180 degrees different, you really don’t know me.

POTC was always meant to be a parody of the villain pirates in swashbuckling adventure movies. Unlike the pirates in film at the time, the pirates of POTC are inept, are easily swayed to their vices, and are implied to have led to their demise, no swashbuckling hero needed.

I’m just glad they didn’t put Depp in the cavern scenes like they did in DLP. It makes no sense! All of the Pirates are cursed and dead... oh except for Johnny Depp!

Depp made the Pirates franchise what it is. Can you imagine another actor trying to be Jack Sparrow? But he can't do it forever. No more than Harrison Ford can be Indiana Jones forever. But Disney wants, and probably should keep it going. How about Will's son being the next character the story is based on?

I think their best bet (if they're going the full reboot angle) is to start fresh with new characters. Let the Sparrow-verse sink to Davy Jones locker.
