It's not the same as Denmark but I just got back from France and credit card was accepted almost everywhere we went. I actually can't remember where it wasn't. If you have American Express some places will not take it, if they didn't then I used my Visa. I did have a couple hundred in Euros, just in case cards weren't accepted. I actually like at restaurants in France the waiter never took our credit card away from the table, instead it is scanned at the table with us there. I don't know why that can't become the norm in America, it is a lot safer that way.
We will use Citi Visa and Capital One Mastercard.

In the early afternoon exit the ship and enjoy the YELLOW TRAIL.... a 90 minute 5k trail that gives you the best views of the Fjords, our ship, the entire town , a picturesque stop by a beautiful lake and a forest stroll past ancient Viking Burial Grounds.

A trip to the voringfoss waterfall is worth investigating if it is offered from the cruise line.
Everything affordable is sold out. We are on a waiting list for kayaking.
It's a nice little town to explore on foot. The ship docks right in the town
