Thank you for taking the time to look at my thread. My wife and I will arrive to Copenhagen Denmark's airport(CPH) on Sunday July 30th. We'll do tourism in Copenhagen and beyond during that afternoon/evening and then also on Monday July 31st, and Tues. August 1st.
On Wednesday August 2nd we'll board a HAL ( Holland America Line ) Cruise Ship called: Nieuw Statendam
This cruise's dates are Wed. Aug. 2nd - Wed. Aug. 9th
*
*
There is a lot I have to learn about Copenhagen and the area surrounding of Copenhagen Denmark...the area called "Zealand"
The area within the red dashes is Zealand ( within Denmark )
*
*
I am going to use this thread in late June and early July to post links and images that are helpful to me as the vacation/holiday planner.
Once we are closer to flying there (Flying out of Philadelphia on July 29th with a connecting flight in Toronto)....THEN I WOULD ENJOY having people post on this thread. I'll post photos from our time in Denmark and Norway in the same manner I did last year when we went to Ireland.
OK, I better get started. But an important note: The LANGUAGE :) of Denmark is DANISH;)............(NOT Dutch)....(Dutch = Netherlands)

Once we arrive to Copenhagen's airport (CPH) we can avoid a 40 minute and costly taxi ride to our hotel.
Our hotel ( Best Western Hotel Astoria ) is next to Copenhagen's Central Station ( TRAIN Station)
We can take a train from the airport to the train station next to our hotel...

*
*
*
I've been advised to take the Train (get there by going down the escalator)
There are two sections once down the escalator....a Sweden bound section(avoid) and a Copenhagen bound section(YES!)
Look at the signboard for what platform is appropriate for trains(togs) heading to Kobenhavn H (Central Station)
*
*
*
THIS video (just below) is GREAT!
Walks you thru the airport to the Train Ticket Machines....shows you how to purchase the tickets....walks you to the escalator that goes down to the train platform.

I need to decide if I am going to purchase the Copenhagen Card ....scroll down on the website and on the left side partway down is the option for the "Discover" variant of the Copenhagen Card
*
*
Purchasing this Discover Variant Option of the Copenhagen Card would give us "free" inclusive options:
1)"Free" transportation on the train from the airport to our hotel.
2)Included admission into 80+ attractions and museums
3) Free transportation on public transportation within Zones 1 - 99 ( Which is all of the city and much much outside/beyond)
*
*
So I'm wondering should I select that ?🤔( I need to research what are the 80+ attractions that are included)
....................or..............
*
Should I select something that provides unlimited transportation and then just pay for the attractions once we arrive? 🤔
An unlimited transportation only option is called :
"CITY PASS"
Then on City Pass's website or app I'd select from their list of 5 options:
The best option for us is called: "City Pass Large"
*
City Pass Large would allow us to use public transportation to the same Zones 1 - 99 as the Copenhagen Card....but no attractions would be included.
Are you familiar with this @ChuckElias ?
*
*
HERE....I've discovered the BEST MAP or visual for the ZONES....

To get to Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerod ....go to Copenhagen's Central Station ( Kobenhavn H ) and go DOWN the escalator.
Take an "S Train". The S Train we'll need will be on Platform 9, 10 11 or 12....and ALMOST always Tracks 9 and 10.....Avoid Platforms 1 - 8 !
*
x. We should take the S tog red colored train on the " A Line" which ENDS in Hillerod ( our desired end destination ). That's so great! Also, upon returning FROM Hillerod to Copenhagen, take a SOUTHBOUND TRAIN just like when you arrived...leaving it is also called "The A Line."20230704_080730.jpg Screenshot_20230703-190631_YouTube.jpgScreenshot_20230703-190825_YouTube.jpg
