The Mickey ride and Pixar Pier are high on the list. Dont get the hurry with replacing Disney IP with Pixar IP on paradise pier and dont feel like it will make a lot of impact on the theme of that area. Also the mickey ride seems underdeveloped compared to GMR. A Mickey ride wouldnt necessarily have been bad but this doesnt get me jumpy.

Guardians of the Galaxy ride in Epcot definitely stinks, but the worst is by far the closure of GMR, because it's a way of Disney showing that they've completely abandoned the entire that once defined the park. Sure, it's been pretty much gone the past few years, but it was all held together by GMR, and this is Disney essentially showing that they no longer care about the theme.

Gotg, star wars resort, but mainly getting rid of the Great Movie Ride. I knew that it was probably coming some point down the road, but what really makes me PO is the closing date. Like one of the comments above, why can't they wait for toy story to open then close the ride?

While I'm excited for Tron, the concept art makes it look awkwardly placed and sort of random which worries me. Although I wouldn't say it's the worst news. Probably GOTG.

I'm not too happy about TGMR leaving. All of my family likes it and it seems like many others do too. I am pretty excited about the addition of the other rides like Tron and GOTG.

For me, the worst wasn't a specific announcement, but rather an overall confirmation Disney Parks are headed straight down a path of all IP all the time and original concepts in the Parks at least are dead.

It also concerns me they were silent on attractions like Figment which means these are just lame duck attractions that will be dead sooner or later.

Yeah, it's hard to pick. Guardians, I at least knew was coming. I was mostly in favor of the Mickey ride until I found out they are using the modern shorts instead of the classic design. Pixar PIer might actually be the worst for me. Simply renaming existing unthemed rides and slapping images of Pixar characters on them is as "Six Flags theming" as it gets. In a park that already has two Pixar-themed lands. In a park that recently got a 1.5 billion dollar makeover to make it a good and cohesively themed park. A park that is supposed to be about California.

This may be an extreme comparison but bear with me...

Think of the park like your family compound. The home you visited for picnics and holidays and fun times. Each year, members move away or start going to Heaven. More members are born and it's amazing and while It feels different, you adjust. Then it gets down to a member or two that holds it all together. Then they pass, the family decides to sell the house, everyone starts their own families and goes in different directions and dispersing. You move on like the originals never existed, but you remember and miss them fondly.

That's what I feel is happening with DHS. I feel very sad about "MGM Studios" today. I feel like everything from the beginning is gone (I guess except for Indy and I guess Star Tours since those are some of the only old timer parts left?) and it's rebuilding and rebranding and it feels weird. The name change years ago was step one...

Yes I do love some of what's there now and I'm sure I will enjoy what's to come. But it's sad to see GMR go and remember what the park once was. Like GMR was the glue holding the parks original layout together like @FoozieBear eluded to.

Memories...

It's kind of hard to get excited about the Minnie Van announcement.
I would had been excited if they would had announced that the Vans would had been designed after classic Disney attractions such as one based on the Doom Buggie from Haunted Mansion (Complete with the Ghost Host narrating where you are heading at the WDW) or one based on Space Mountain.

There just is NO GOOD REASON to close the Great Movie Ride. They have the space to build the new Mickey Ride somewhere else at WDW without having to get rid of the GMR. It was like when they closed the old Snow White dark ride at MK because they were building the Mine Train which also had a Snow White theme. So what? More attractions for guests is a GOOD thing!

They just do not have any good reason to do this except to keep operating costs down. The last I checked Disney was making tons of money so it should not be a big deal to ADD an attraction instead of (almost) always replacing an attraction.
