I didn't notice that. Which ones?

Mainly names. They get Submarine Voyage and WDW's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea mixed up. It's Adventure Thru Inner Space that the microscope is from. The TWA Moonliner is what's in front of Pizza Port now (2/3 scale copy), not another name for Astro Jets etc.

But the video was useful because I didn't catch Sam Eagle or Skull Rock while watching it before.

That commercial is freaking awesome. Thanks for sharing that. It does indeed look like we get the proper title on the Bass Drum. Though to me, it looks like the pixie dust LED lights may still be in place, but just illuminated permanently, sort of as a frame around the float. I could be wrong. Still salty that we have no Tink for this parade. Thought I saw it run like that at WDW a few times when they were short staffed (or the float was down), ha!

They really should consider a night time parade for DCA. If Disneyland can handle fireworks and Parades within a short amount of time then DCA should be able to handle WOC and a night parade.

All they have to do is allow people to go into the WOC viewing are starting an hour or so before parade time. Have the parade start in Paradise Pier to Hollywood Land. Once the parade reaching the section between Bugsland and Carthay they can start WOC. People that had lined up for the parade near Mermaid area can just stay in same area to watch WOC.

The parade route doesn't get as crowded as it used to during initial runs of WOC and they do not do the lines in grizzley or parade routes like before. so there is no reason for the parade route to not be used at night. All thru traffic just needs to be directed thru the Wharf and Paradise boardwalk and allow some foot ttraffic in the footpath between parade viewing area and mermaid queue

I didn't notice that. Which ones?

Several were already mentioned. But right off the bat the video claims "Astrojets Ride! (AKA TWA Moonliner)" Um, no.

What is actually shown in the commercial is the Rocket Jets that operated from 1967 to 1997.

The Astrojets was the name for the smaller predecessor, named from its opening in 1956 until 1963. In 1963 the Tiki Room opened with United Airlines and its Mainliner Jet service to Hawaii as its sponsor, and United complained about the name Astrojets. In the early 1960's American Airlines tagline was "Route of the Astrojets" and they emblazoned the word Astrojet on all their new jetliners. United felt American was getting free advertising even though they weren't the sponsor of Disneyland's Astrojets. The Astrojets were renamed Tomorrowland Jets until their closure in 1966 to become the Rocket Jets.

Meanwhile, in Tomorrowland, TWA was the sponsor of the Rocket To The Moon attraction from 1955 to 1962. The rocket in front was known as the TWA Moonliner. The sponsorship changed to Douglas Aircraft in 1962, as TWA dropped its Disneyland association and United Airlines took over as the "official airline of Disneyland" with its new Tiki Room. The Moonliner was repainted and from 1963 to 1966 it was known as the Douglas Moonliner, until the rocket and the ride was torn down for the New Tomorrowland project of 1966-67.

This is all basic common knowledge that any Disneyland fan knows. And that's just one of the mistakes that video made with its historical comments.

Don't tell the kids in the Magic Kingdom Parade break room, but yes that's the plan. Many WDW fans can't believe TDO would leave them high and dry like that and be so cheap, but Disneyland is keeping Paint The Night for summer 2017 and beyond.

That made me laugh. But only because I firmly believe the Orlando folks are cheaping out on purpose.

It's too bad we won't get to see MSEP on Main Street in DL (won't be back until fall). We saw it in DCA and many times in the MK but would love to have seen it in its original home.

I'm so hoping that Paint the Night returns IMMEDIATELY after MSEP leaves on June 18th. Or at least comes back the Friday after the 18th. I'm hopeful since that'll be well into the summer season and should have some nighttime parade running.

Wow, thank you for the insight. I'm going to be honest, I didn't know a lot of that. I guess I need to brush up on my DL history. I think I've been focusing on WDW too much.

Now that is something I would like to see!
As I said it's been years and that commercial might had been deleted from Youtube.
