Kennedy Space Center, Legoland, or Sea world if you had to pick one to complete your week when not at the parks.

2 adults and 2 kids 9 and 11

Opinions wanted! Thanks

KSC for sure. Atlantis is amazing, the Space Shuttle experience is cool. The Saturn 5 exhibit is sooo much better these days. The rocket garden has several replicas that can be climbed in, as well as the genuine ones. The Hall of Fame is well done and appeals to kids too. If you go to their website you can see very thing there is and an estimated time to do each one, or just pick from some suggested itineraries. We usually do 2 days to fit it all in.

Nothing at Legoland they're not going to see in the other parks really, other than miniland. Don't get wrong, we like it and the boys are all grown up now but it isn't anywhere close to KSC. And the rides are aimed squarely at the under 12's so if your are thrill riders at all, the rides will be too tame.

Sea World - well it's marine animals and rides, plus performing animal shows. Did it once, the boys' main memories of it are being soaked by the killer whale and the scramble nets in the play area.

I laughed (at myself) when I read the thread title.... and then I read the OP. So on your non park day, you want to go to... another park? Lol. For us, the only thing we want to do on a non park day is sleep in late, hang by the pool, and maybe have a nice signature dinner or dinner show. Recharge before heading back to tackle the parks again.

But if you're more energetic ( and you likely are) then KSC would definitely get my vote.

A non park day usually consists of sleeping in, hanging out at the pool, going shopping at Disney Springs or the Florida Mall or a trip to Kennedy Space Center.

If you mean by non Disney park day then I recommend Universal or Busch Gardens. SeaWorld sucks and Legoland is geared for young kids mostly.

However if you are asking between those three then it really depends what you and your family are interested in. If you like sea life and ‘thrilling’ rides then go to SeaWorld, if your kids like Lego and kiddy rides then hit up Legoland, if they are interested in science and space travel and want to learn stuff and have fun then go Kennedy Space Center. My vote would be KSC. Cheap too.

What is this "non-park day" that you speak of? 😳

I usually kick back at the resort and/or wander around others. In olden times, it might have meant a trip to Cypress Gardens, Sea World or KSC. The latter is definitely worth doing at least once. It's a bit pricey these days, but lots of good stuff to see. I still miss Cypress Gardens from its heyday. Sea World? Pass! There's also Universal... But is one day really enough?

Non park days for us are either staying in the hotel room resting, Disney Springs shopping/outing day, maybe pool time (with kids this might be the go to option), some arcade time at the hotel, or we go Hotel hopping and enjoy other hotel restaurants and shops for the day. But other than that....? Erm...can't say we really do anything outside of Disney while vacationing in Disney.

I really enjoy KSC but I enjoy everything connected to space travel and the history of the space program. There are many things there that kids can enjoy but if the theming of space travel doesnt interest your kids you may think about the other options. Sea World is a fun day trip, totally different than Disney so it changes things up. Never did LegoLand so I'm not rating that. There are many other Orlando sites to see other than the 3 youve mentioned. Lots of options along International Drive and outlying areas. Ripleys was very fun.

I've done all three in the last 2 years.

First of all, Legoland doesn't really compare with the main Orlando theme parks, in terms of either quality or size. It's more like a really nice regional park than a destination like Disney or Universal. Unless your kids are REALLY into the bricks, skip it.

KSC is amazing, but keep in mind it's a large museum rather than a theme park. The drive out there is at least an hour each way, so factor in the cost of transportation if you aren't going to have a car with you.

SeaWorld gets a bad rap around here but I'm still a fan. If your kids are into big roller coasters they've got three world-class ones, and the overall park is beautiful and well themed. They also offer cheap package deals if you want to tack on their water park, though I wouldn't try to do both in the same day.

With your kids ages- Fun Spot and Old Town!! Including the Slingshot and Vomatron.

I’d also say SeaWorld.

Save the Space Center for a different trip. :)

We have scheduled a mid-week "non-park day" for our upcoming trip to VGF. DW, DD and DD's friend plan on doing the spa and high tea.... neither of which interest me in the least. If the weather is nice, I may just laze by the pool with a book. If not, I may hop on the monorail and check out the other resorts. I have seen the Contemporary, as our home DVC is at BLT, but I don't think I've seen the Poly yet. Might have to go check out Trader Sam's.

Either Fun Spot would be a good way to spice up a lazy pool day, especially since they're open late.

I'm more of a fan of the Orlando location. You can definitely fit both it and SeaWorld into the same day if you do SeaWorld first, and maybe eat dinner somewhere on the strip in between.
