I loved MNSSHP party in October. There were no crowds to speak of, we walked on everything and got to do all our favorite things. Read some of the recent posts about Dec. crowds levels and see if what you think. For me, while I love the world at Christmas, it is becoming way too crowded. I have been at both times in the past but Oct. is a better choice, IMHO.

I have never been to Disney in October but we were there the first week of December in 2006 and had a wonderful time. The weather was nice, but on the cooler side. The crowds were not bad and we did not have to wait long for the attractions. The decorations in the parks and at the resorts were beautiful and MVMCP was alot of fun and the fireworks were amazing. We had so much fun that we already booked our trip for December 2007. My vote is for December.

I went 5 years ago in the first week of December, the weather wasn't cold at all, 80's everyday, but that probably is different every year. As for the crowds, they were very minimal, we were very happy going at that time, but are unable to go due to school and work restraints. I am also voting for the first two weeks of december. Oh I also forgot to add that the Holiday Decorations are up in December which is something to consider.

it depends on when in December. If you are planning prior to 12/24 (leaving prior), than I would say go then, but when we went in this past dec 14-29, it was fun prior to Christmas, but after it was elbow to elbow, very long lines, hard to get around. We actually were suppose to stay until after new years, but left early because of the how crowded it was. October is a nice time to go. If it were my family, hands down, it would be October.

It all really depends on what you want to do. First 2 weeks of December and the month of October have about the same crowd level. If you really are a Halloween freak MNSSHP is a great time. If Christmas is more your taste then the first 2 weeks of December would be the best time.

I am a Halloween freak but if I was forced to choose between October and December (I go both months) I would more than likely pick December simply because there is so many more special events going on the majority of which are included with park admission.

Well, maybe Dec. 2006 was an anomaly, but the crowds seemed to be very heavy during our stay. It may have been due to the PopWarner weekend though. The park & hotel decorations were beautiful, MVMCP was a lot of fun, and the weather was decent. We actually didn't want to swim due to the cool weather.

I also went to WDW 2 years ago & went in October. The weather was great, crowds seem to be a little lighter, but this was mainly due to people having to reschedule their trips b/c of the 2 hurricanes. It was a little heavier than normal, but still lighter than our recent trip.

As much as I enjoyed our Dec trip, I think our next trip will be in October for a few reasons. I liked the MNSSHP a little more, since the children get to trick or treat in the park. Weather was a little warmer. Crowds a little lighter.

Either way, you will have a great time.

Tough decision. If you have never been in December, I would choose that as Master Yoda said, there is so much extra. Both times are comfortable as far as crowd levels (except for late Dec. and mid Oct. - Columbus Day [even that isn't terrible])

Both have the hard ticket parties that are similar in many ways, October has Food and Wine which is great fun for adults. October is also a little warmer...at least more even. Dec. can be up and down.

I love going in October. The weather is still hot and the crowds are fairly light (as long as you're not there for Halloween). We loved MNSSHP as well. My mom said she liked it better than MVMCP, except for the "snow."

We've been both, they're both GREAT times to go. Equal as far as crowd levels, weather, etc... As long as you stay away from the holiday weeks.

Make it easy for you. This is the question you have to ask yourself:

Do we want to be there to celebrate Halloween or Christmas?

That's it. Make it that easy. The decorations are both great, MNSSHP and MVMCP are both great. Just decide which holiday you'd rather be there near and go with it.

Have a great trip!!

Perfectly stated!
Both are great times to be there. I was just there during the Christmas season for the first time and it is an amazing experience. I highly recommend it. If you opt to go in October, it is also a good choice. . .low crowds and perfect weather.
It's up to you! Whichever you choose, have a wonderful time!

I have been both times of the year. Once in October of 2004 ( the week of columbus day) and once in December of 2005 ( first week- 3-9).My family (dh,dds) enjoyed both trips.Crowds were the same both times(light) and cost was the same(low). I personally enjoy Chritmas more so I would pick December. In fact I am in the process of planning our next trip, December 1-8, 2007.

We have alternated between October and December. I really like the first week of December. Everything is decorated but not crowded yet.

Two years ago, October was great. But we were there the day a hurricane came through and the next few days, so no one was there! This year when we went for MNSSHP on a Friday night before getting on the Magic, I was so disappointed. The lines were long and we could not move through the park because there were so many people.

So I guess in part it depends on when you plan on going each month. I would definitely take October over the week of Christmas. But I would take the first week of December every year if I could.
