My wife and I were planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge but we have been reading about the potential distractions due to the construction. We are now looking at other hotels to consider. So a few questions to the group:

-Is the Polynesian Resort worth the price? We are concerned because of all the different buildings, seems like a high price if we are not near the main lobby and Monorail.
-The Yacht Club - We are concerned over the possibility of construction here as well. Is the price for the great pool worth it for a trip in December? Is this better than the Beach Club?
-The Beach Club- Is the price for the great pool worth it for a trip in December? Is this better than the Yacht Club?
-Contemperary Resort - Price for a tower room just seems so much higher than the other options. What are we missing?

Any other suggestions? Our trip is planned 12/2-12/9, the week before we will be staying at Cape Coral on the Gulf Coast.

Any of them are great that time of year! Everywhere is decorated for the holidays! Not sure you can go wrong with any of those choices!

I'm a Beach Club fan. The rooms were recently refurbished, it is a 7 minute walk into Epcot from your room, a quick boat ride to DHS to see the Osborne lights and the lobby looks like this in Dec.

Yes, we have been in Disney around the holidays many times and have seen the hotels decorated. That is why I was so specific on my questions/ :)

The Poly is actually more compact than you think. And yes, depending on your choice of room there, it's worth it.
The Yacht Club is awesome and def worth it. I wouldn't worry about poss of construction there.
Ditto for the Beach Club, the pool is amazing!
I can't really chime in on Contempo because I haven't stayed there, only dined and walked around.

Have you considered AKL? It's beautiful esp at Christmas!

We stayed at AKL last visit, rooms were very spread out from main lobby and the transportation was lacking. Hotel was very pretty though.

Ah ok. It is a big resort and you need to request near the lobby. And FWIW, we thought the buses there were the best of resort buses we've experienced in a long time. Well, best of luck with your planning!

Your right, the buses were not that bad but prefer other transportation options.
