A CM at Who Wants To Be A Millionare told my sister today that the show will no longer run after the 20th of this month. Can anyone confirm this?

I can't confirm it for sure, but that's been on the rumor for the last week or so. In the meantime, we just have to wait for official confirmation.

Consider it officially confirmed

It's closing because of, I believe the notice said, "lack of attendance." MGM's will not be closing.

This comes just a while after DCA's WWTBAM was put on weekend only openings.

I think it will close at MGM eventually...in the next couple years. It's much more popular there than at DCA, but it's popularity is slowly on the decrease--it doesn't have a tremendous repeat factor (I see it every trip, but it is always the same...). It's not a huge loss at DCA; I only hope they will have some sort of replacement in this area for the 50th--that is a huge block left open with Millionaire, Superstar Limo, and Hollywood and Dine.

Please close the one at MGM! It was a good idea and was certainly popular while the main show was still on, but this was a temporary attraction anyways. Nobody planned on it being here that long. DCA could use a new show/attraction in that area. Because I have never been there I do not know if their show building is as big as the one in MGM, but if it is that area would be a great place for a good C ticket dark ride or something. Hopefully there will be something new in both places soon.

Millionaire is pretty big, and next to it is the closed Superstar Limo, and next to that is the closed Hollywood and Dine. That is 3 relatively large buildings closed, in a row--room for a major E-Ticket a la Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

I agree that they should make use of the space in that area of the park with the three closings by building a new exciting attraction. I don't think RnR would be it. I think you have to remember that in that part of California, coasters are a dime a dozen. So unless the coaster intends on sending you into another dimension via a wormhole, I say nay. I think they need some type of updated dark ride.

Secondly, I'd be a little concerened with the "major attractions" in that part of the park hogging all the incoming traffic. ToT, Soarin' and then our hypothetical kick third attraction. Rollercoaster Tycoon 101. Spread attractions throughout the park. At least that's how it worked when I played it.

I think that Who wants to be a millionare closing at DCA could be god and bad. one if they closed it they can save money on the staffing. More money to go elsewhere... With The atraction closed they have a huge area for new attractions to get people to go to this park...

bad part is this is now one less attraction and with the state California Screemin is in they need to have an attraction open that can eat people and have that ride close to have a major referbishment on the attraction's motors and vehicles....

I think we shouldn't get a carbon copy ride from WDW. That area needs something new and fresh, like cherrynegra said, a dark ride will fit in perfectly.

With all these ride sharing going around between each resort, I might as well save my money not going to Florida and just wait for the attraction to be built here in California. IMHO
