I wonder if maybe the ride was so notoriously bad that those celebs demanded they be removed?
Could very well be the case. I mean, it's already strange enough that all three of those celebrities were missing at the same time, especially considering they were limited motion figures, with only a couple of what I'm assuming were pneumatic actuated movements here and there. Pneumatic air systems aren't that demanding either, in terms of any heavy maintenance.

Exactly. Something is fishy there.

I think there's more to the Superstar Limo post-opening story than we may know...

My first visit to the Disneyland Resort was in 2006 during the 50th. Although I had been to WDW, I was excited to visit this new park (DCA now 4 years old) I had seen in advertising and boy was it disappointing. Lots of cement and uninspired rides except for Soarin'. TOT was good but not as good as the one in Florida. Before this visit, I knew nothing of the controversy of DCA but it all changed when I returned home and started going to the different Disneyland forums and finding the one and only Al Lutz.

On a side note, going to Disneyland was amazing. It became my park of choice after that even though WDW was my first experience with Disney.

I like USF and IOA being connected
Same. I love that DL & DCA are next to each other too. I don't think I would visit DCA as much as I do if it wasn't in close proximity but it's still a great park. Proximity the reason why we always stay on property at Universal during our trips. We usually stay at Cabana Bay which is even closer to Volcano Bay which we love. I'm so used to things being close growing up with DLR, WDW is just a lot of work/stress sometimes. Though, now that there is a new gondola at WDW, that might change my perspective on the resort once I get back.

Universal managed to take what I love about DLR (in terms of proximity) and still managed to make the whole resort feel like a getaway destination (which DLR doesn't have at all & our Downtown Disney is pretty meh). I can't even justify paying resort prices at DLR anymore after vising Florida.

He and Hench could have killed DCA at the Aspen conference and just sat there and did nothing instead.
I’m more surprised he wasn’t trotting out California Living for why it was such a great idea.

It’s an issue of identity, not convenience. What makes Islands of Adventure different from Universal Studios Florida or Epic Universe which is even more similar? Why would an attraction work in Universal Studios Florida but not Islands of Adventure or Epic Universe? Universal is/was planning to have Harry Potter and Nintendo properties in all three of their parks.

Universal Studios has always been a park about being in the movies, even the production side. IOA was always an adventure park along your favorite characters. Today you are right, as the direction of each park are becoming one but that's due to today's theme park climate as ALL theme parks are losing their identity. But at least Universal has always been about movies & IOA is actually the one who's always been the same park from the beginning. Due to the abandonment of film & production, USF is actually the one becoming like IOA.

But, many of Disney's parks are becoming like IOA too & losing their identity. None of WDW'S recent additions have helped their park's identity either. Epcot, DHS, & even DCA are slowly becoming Universal Studios with their recent addition of lands/rides that have nothing to do with their park's original identity. Lets pray they don't add Zootopia to the animal park that already has an alien land from another movie planet. All theme parks are becoming Universal Studios, it's what's hot sadly.
