Days do you need to see WDW?

I think that depends on what time of year you go. The week we go is one of the slowest of the year so 5 days is plenty then. In the summer, I would say 7 at least.

We enjoy just being on property so we like to have a long stay of at least 10 days. Now, with that being said we bring our travel trailer. So we have our own bed and pillows. I have my own kitchen, reclining lounger under the awning, etc. We don't rush around the parks trying to get to everything, we don't even go with a plan of what parks to do what day. I can hear many of you going WHAT!!!!. Let me explain, we have been numerous times and yes, we have our favorities we like to experience. However, it is really being immersed in "Disney" while on property that we love. Knowing that if we don't want to move the truck while we are they we don't have to disney will transport us. If I don't feel like cooking, there is somewhere to eat around almost every corner. We love to visit with others while we are there and just strike up a conversation -- sharing disney with a stranger. In other words, totally relax at WDW.
Now, don't get me wrong, we have done the full day, full ADRs, run-til-you-drop WDW vacation and have come home more tired than when we left. For us vacation is about taking a break from your everyday life and relaxing, we chose to do that at WDW. Next trip is in Sept 2013 for 12 days at WDW and several days driving/camping to and from!!!

We normally only go for 5 days and it is plenty. We spend 2 days at Epcot, 2 days at the Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Animal Kingdom. I do wish I could go for an extra day or 2 and get a little pool time and relaxation, but not necessary really since it always seems to rain a lot when we go in August.

Been going for YEARS and still never have enough time in the parks! Believe it or not but there are many things we still have not done that we want to do and with Fantasy land expansion and the addition of a new grandson we will be going again and again and again....

You definitely need a week. You can do the parks all in 4 days, but it's very rushed and not very enjoyable. I prefer 8-10 days which is what my family usually does.

As a benchmark, on our last trip (2 adults, 2 small children, five full days) in October (low-moderate crowds), we did the following, using four morning and three evening touring hours, per day:

Park (percentage of available attractions/shows/characters experienced) - # days:
Magic Kingdom (95%, favorite attractions 2-3x) - 2.0 days
Epcot (90% of Future World, 80% of World Showcase, favorite attractions 2-3x) - 1.5 days
Hollywood Studios (75%, TSMM 2x) - 1 day
Animal Kingdom (75%, favorites 2x) - .5 days

NEED or WANT? I can get my Disney fix in 3 days spread amongst the 4 Parks commando style from opening til closing. I'd far prefer more time than that though. :)

Figure one full day per park. Two each would be better for MK and EC, not so much AK and HS.

I like a full week (7 days) or so - which allows resort time at beginning, middle and end - plus all parks. With the Park Hopper option and going by park hours in choosing your park for which day (taking into account EMH) - you can really maximize time a great deal.

We usually go 8 days/7 nights. Although I tell myself I wish I could stay longer, by the end of it, I think to myself there's only so many times you can a ride before you get bored of it, so it's better to leave wanting more than to leave feeling bored. Plus, by day 8, we've purchased everything we would want to purchase, so by that time I think to myself that I'd better go and come back when the merchandise is new and different. If we went to US/IOA or Seaworld we would add 1 day for each park to feel like it was enough time. Also, if we went to a water park, I'd add a day (my kids are too little to really enjoy them at this point, so we don't do those).

We always go for 7 days. 2 days for MK & EPCOT, 1 day for DHS & DAK. We spend the other day @ DTD doing all the shops & eating @ T-REX Cafe. Then, it is off to play miniature golf. After 7 fabulous, leg aching & feet killing days, we are exhausted. It is time to go home & plan the next one.
