Daylight saving time?

This may seem like a stupid question but do the clocks go back in Florida like they do here in the UK?, as the clocks go back on the middle weekend of our holiday to Florida and we're not sure whether they also do the same in America. If anyone could help that would be great thankyou.

Yes, we spring ahead and fall back. We turn the clocks back the first Sunday in November here (go back to Standard Time).

Thanks for the quick reply. So to get it straight in my head the clocks go back in florida on the 2nd November which will be the last full day of our holiday as we arrive on the 20/10/08 and go home on the 03/11/08.

You are correct. On Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 a.m. the clocks will "fall back" one hour. It will then be 1 a.m. You will want to adjust for that in preparing to go to the parks that morning or any ADR's you might have.

We love it because it seems like we get an extra hour of sleep. Of course my kids don't wake up by a clock (except for school), so all I get is the illusion. :ROFLOL:

Have fun on your trip!

It is true of Florida but not every state in the US observes daylight savings time. Arizona, and Hawaii and the territories of Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa do not turn their clocks back.

Thanks for all your replies, we just have to remeber to turn them back a week later than we do here in the UK, and its quite handy as the following monday is the day we fly back so we get an extra hour on our last day to enjoy the parks before we fly home :sohappy:. Thanks again for the replies they are much appreciated.
