What about MouseBoards ? I don't know how reputable the transaction is but I see points and dates for New Years... I think you are renting/buying direct from owners...

I'm not familiar with MouseBoards. Do you have a link? When I google it the only thing Disney related I see is Mouse Owners. Regardless I'll check it out because she's desperate. Anyone else familiar with MouseBoards?

It is mouseowners...

maybe this will take you to a thread I was looking at but for different dates... I think other people including other DVC members on this forum have gotten points this way before.

Thanks, looking into it more now. It sounds like a good idea, but I'm a bit wary of the process. Has anyone else done it this way before?

Anytime you deal directly with the owner, you are assuming the risk yourself. The boards will usually post referrals from other people who rented from them, but you have no recourse if something goes wrong. You may benefit from. Since it looks like there is essentially no availability over NYE at DVC, the owner would need to already have made the reservation. (If you go dvcapp.com and enter your dates and select room types, you can see what is coming up, and when that room type was last seen by the app)

I have friends looking to rent through David's that want to stay at beach club villas for 2 Weeks - issue is no members with points available to rent to Cover it. ATM :(
Is there any other places that are just like David's? Maybe they could do a week with them and a week with someone else? :)

There are. Some of the DVC resellers now do point rentals as well. I know that The Timeshare Store is one of them, who also happens to be a sponsor of this here fine forum. ; ) It's not on their website, but is in the emails they send out about contracts for sale, so I'd try reaching out to them. They do charge less than Davids, but I have no idea to their policies or anything.

Alternatively, they may want to try multiple reservations through David's. I think there are more people that buy one weeks worth of points than buy two. 2 weeks would be at least 220 points at BCV (studio during "Adventure season"), or as high as 900 points (2br during "Premier season"). I think most people tend to max out in the 250-300 point area, and simply don't carry that many points.
