Aha! Welcome, I’m so glad to see you all made it safely. I do hope the trip was most pleasant and that the grounds have treated you kindly thus far. Oh, where are my manners? I am Dark PerGron, the curator of this manor. For months now my staff and I have been preparing for your arrival and have gotten us back into tip top shape for your stay. I’m sure you will find it delightfully liveable here in this manor, with plenty of rooms to explore and activities to do. Now, I’m sure you’re all very excited to get into our activity, but first, please allow me to give you the grand tour of our manor. For if I don’t, you’ll become hopelessly lost for all eternity… Now, please stay within the group as we tour, the manor is not fond of unwelcome intruders and has a mind of its own. It’s best to be respectful and mindful at all times to avoid irritating it.
We begin our tour in The Parlor. The Parlor is our main gathering room here at the Manor of Mysteries, home to the coziest of furniture and an eclectic mix of artifacts and antiques that round the room out well. Please don’t mind the blood red color scheme of the walls, in many cultures red is seen as a lucky color after all. If you pay attention to the furniture, you may recognize the rich mahogany that made up many of the puzzle boxes you received leading up to your invitation. This wood is a favorite of the manor, leading to it being present throughout.
Into our next room, you simply must see our world class Kitchen. While most of our rooms here strive to maintain the eclectic aesthetics provided by the many artifacts in our collection, only two rooms in the whole of the manor have been updated for the 21st century and the kitchen is one of them. For curiosity sake, the second is the restroom, but that’s not a part of the tour. Our kitchen is retrofitted to feature all the hallmarks of the finest kitchens from France and Italy to India and Brazil and beyond and our Michelin Star head chef has prepared the finest menu of dishes for your stay.
Now an offshoot from our kitchen is the dark and dingy Wine Cellar. This wine cellar was dug out by the original owner of this home, Robert H. Cold, and has remained the same since construction. In fact, our collection includes vintages so old and rare that to drink them would be unthinkable. Yet, for any of you esteemed guests, the pick of this vault is available, though the chef will be selecting the perfect pairings for dinner I’m sure.
Now I welcome you to a personal favorite room of mine; The Study. As much of a foodie as I like to think I am, there is no denying that my true passion lies in the mysterious, and this study is home to some of the greatest mysteries the world has ever known. This gallery is home to artifacts from the natural world like rare gems and fossils, to more unknown items such as possessed items and shrunken heads and beyond. This study is a playground for the curious.
For those who may be less interested in the mysteries of the house and may instead prefer our extensive collection of tomes and manuscripts, certainly The Library is a must-stop space. Full of stories of fantasy and horror, the library is home to countless first editions and rare pieces any self respecting bibliophile will be dying to get their hands on.
Leaving the library and heading deep into our manor’s grounds, quite literally, you’re sure to find The Catacombs. The catacombs are home to the tombs and bones of masters of the house for generations as well as memorials to those who spent their time working or living within the manor. Don’t spend too much time in these eerie quarters however, for they say that these catacombs are haunted.
Back up into our main manor you’ll encounter The Game Room, a self-explanatory space filled to the brim with tabletop and card games galore. For the curious and the strategic, the game room provides its own unique challenges that visitors may come across while playing its many games.
There are few things more frightening than the unknown reaches of space, so for our manor dedicated to the greatest of mysteries, this one mystery of our universe can be studied extensively within The Observatory. This beautiful state of the art room houses telescopes and instruments for reading the stars and solving the many mysteries that lie within them.
Across from the observatory is our other unique room, The Conservatory, a wondrous greenhouse filled with lush and beautiful plants from across the world. In here, plants of all kinds can be discovered and researched by the most curious of people.
Finally, we enter The Great Hall, our main gathering place for celebration and jubilee. Here, the echoing chambers fill with the most wonderful music and sound to strengthen the bond between the manor and its occupants.
Well, I sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed your tour. My friends @mickeyfan5534 and @JokersWild will now take your bags and show you to your dormitories just outside the manor itself. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay!

How it Works
Manor of Mysteries will follow a similar gameplay structure to other more familiar armchair Imagineer competitions. Players will be sorted into teams and the teams will be provided a prompt. The prompt will be the main focus of the round as teams complete it in the allotted time frame before submitting it to be judged by the three hosts and any guest judges present for the round. At the end of each round, the losing team will lose a player in an elimination. These rounds will continue until the teams merge once only a certain number of players remain to complete the task as a single team. Eliminations will continue until a winner is declared.
Manor of Mysteries is a competitive game and we urge players to get into the competitive spirit. While all guests will be put onto one of two teams and are expected to play with their teams, guests are also encouraged to create alliances and friendships behind the scenes to further their interests in the game. As always, the goal here is to win, and there will be opportunities discovered throughout the manor that can push you there should you decide you wish to use them. Can you act civilly while secretly plotting the downfall of everyone else in the manor? That is the question. The Manor of Mysteries is not a game for the faint of heart and will put your competitive spirit to the test. However, if you’re ready and willing to engage with the competition and the story, it is sure to be a rewarding and challenging experience.
Players will also partake in team voting towards the end of the round where each player will nominate the two teammates they feel should be put up for elimination, be it for purely effort-based reasons, or blindsiding, and the two most voted players will then be chosen to enter the dumbwaiter where they will await a selection from the judges on who is eliminated. Players will also vote for their top two players who should be safe going forward, and the most voted player(s) will receive the Golden Idol, an ancient Aztec idol that will protect you into the next round.
The Dumbwaiter, named for the service elevator established in such an old manor, where inside they will partake in a minigame challenge unknown to the rest of the players. Sometimes these challenges may affect the elimination, and sometimes they will have an effect on the overall game, but the true meaning of the challenges will not be revealed until the time for them is ready, including to the players competing in them.
No matter what place you finish, be proud of yourself, for you were brave enough to face Dark PerGron’s Manor of Mysteries.
Rules
1. All prompts are given a deadline for submission and must be completed and submitted by this deadline. Should an extension be needed as agreed upon by the entirety of the team, requests must be issued AT LEAST 24 hours before the submission deadline to give both teams an equal chance to keep working.
2. Despite the competitive and strategic nature of this game, we encourage all players to be civil and engage with both teams in a friendly manner. This is only a game and bullying, harassment, hate speech, or any other cruelty will result in immediate expulsion from the game.
3. While this is a game, we do take things such as perjury and plagiarism incredibly seriously. All submitted written pieces MUST BE of the players' own making. You are welcome to use online reference images, videos, etc. but please do not attempt to pass these off as your own and provide proper credit when doing so.
4. Have fun! Any and all issues, inquiries, or conundrums can be addressed with the hosts at any time, We’re here to provide an exciting and fun game, so don’t hesitate to let us know of any way we can do that better.
Cabinet of Curiosities
As with all collections of eccentric individuals, Dark PerGron has procured a wide variety of oddities and curiosities from across the globe. While you may encounter an ancient arrowhead or mammoth tusk on display in one of the many rooms, there are also many artifacts located within the ever-enticing Cabinet of Curiosities. Here, these pieces of history and science have been specially procured for you, the player. Each of these pieces contains a special power, be it positive or negative, that will affect the game of everyone playing, or possibly just the player receiving the curiosity.
The Cabinet can be opened at any point throughout the game by any player in an effort to affect the game, but any player who chooses to open it will not know what the item they pick will do. Some will be more obvious than others, making the “safe choice” but others will be vaguer upon looking, so brave the cabinet, for they could bestow you anything from an automatic spot in the semi-finals to an automatic elimination on the spot to anything in between.
Will you brave the Cabinet to help your game? The choice is yours.
Eliminations
Eliminations will occur at the end of each round once reviews have been conducted and a winner is decided. Most rounds will contain an individual elimination from the losing team, but some rounds may be conducted as a double-elimination, meaning that both teams will be losing a member, win or lose.
Unlike other games where the project leader chooses two people up for elimination, this game will have each member of the team anonymously nominate two people they feel deserve the elimination and the judges will choose the two most voted players to decide between. This gives all players more agency as well as removes the burden of one individual choosing the eliminations. It also allows alliances to flourish in choosing targets but doesn’t give full control as the hosts still choose who to send home.
Understanding that players have real lives outside of the game, any and all drop-outs will count as that round’s elimination barring additional eliminations such as double-elimination or a Cabinet of Curiosities objective. Eliminations will not be present for the first five rounds of the game due to participation.
