Thrash is a blend of punk and heavy metal...it's also known as speed metal. Great stuff...

Welll...see...for me..growing up...Megadeth was my MAJOR influence..like..Id sit in my basement for HOURS each day trying to figure out Daves riffs...its the reason i am as "Good" as I am.
Without Dave..there would be no metallica (literally) and he was one of the FEW people keeping "thrash" metal alive...Grrrrr

bummer. I'm going on 26 and grew up with them as well. Of course, I was only a fan boy and slipped away from long hair bands in the late 90's but they still were awesome.
