Damaged Merchandise

While at WDW last week I bought one of their cute sets of Alice themed teacups and saucers and had it sent to the resort. It was packed pretty well and having it sent to the resort meant there was an extra layer of careful packing and padding.

I put it in carry on and packed soft things around it just in case. But today when I went to use them for the first time one started leaking. There is a very, very fine vertical crack the entire height of the cup. The leaking makes it visible with tea coloring. I'm bummed. It seems like a manufacturing/factory error rather than anything Disney did when sending it to my resort or the plane home.

Am I out of luck in getting a replacement?

You can try to contect the Disney Merchandise line. Their number should be on any merchandise receipt you have. Or I know the info is on AllEars as well. They may or may not be able to help out. Good luck!

Call the merchandise number on your receipt and give the the isbn number. I've had to get merchandise replaced before. They may have you send that one back or they may not. I've had both happen. Disney is very easy to deal with when it comes to damaged merchandise.

Yup call the number on the top of a receipt. We had a Buzz Lightyear toy break. Called them up they sent a replacement and told us to just throw the other one away.

 I can get the merchandise number, but can't find the receipt for them. They could have been purged in the hotel room pack up before home. Ack.

Snippet from AllEars.net

It has happened to nearly every one of us. You see an item for sale in one of the shops in a theme park that you like but you decide to wait before you purchase it. One thing leads to another and before you know it, you are back home without having bought that item. Oh, if there were only a way to still get it.

There is. Disney's merchandising division operates the very efficient Walt Disney World Mail Order department for just such contingencies.

I have found in my dealings with them that the CMs who staff the Mail Order department are very diligent and thorough in trying to find that special something that you are looking for. If you are in a hurry for your item, you may want to call as emails often take several days to be answered.
To set the search wheels in motion, contact Mail Order at:
Telephone: 877-560-6477 (toll Free)
or
407-363-6200
Fax: 407-352-6369
Email: wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com

Hours: Monday through Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm. All times Eastern time zone.

Tell them as much detail about the item as you can remember. Important things are where you saw it (what park or even better which shop), as detailed a description as possible including the price if you remember it, and the size and/or color of what you are looking for. They will search their database of thousands of merchandise items to try to locate what you seek.

Most times they can come up with a match. They will tell you the SKU number of the item (this is the unique computer coded number assigned to every item that Disney sells) and the cost of the item. Merchandise purchased through the Mail Order department sells at exactly the same retail price as it does in the parks. You will however be charged a shipping cost to have the item sent to you.

Good hint for WDW Shoppers: if you see something while at WDW that you may want to purchase at a later time, it is always good to write the SKU number on price tag. It helps them locate the items faster. They have thousands of items there and they are always changing.

Try those contact methods, they should be able to help.

How did you pay for it?? Did you charge it to your room?? Do you have your final bill if so?? If you did and have room charge that should have the number you need for the proof of purchase. I have also had luck with dealing with disney when it comes to having to return damanged items.

ISBN? Its not a book, lol. You're looking for UPC.
