DAK from space. What's this?

Just cruising around in Google Earth and noticed this huge cleared
space at DAK. I'm not that hopeful, because one of the gurus here
would have said something if something big was up, but this is a nice cleared
patch of land, wouldn't you say?

IIRC that land has been cleared since the opening of AK. It was originally intended to be used but has been empty ever since, used for staging and what not

It is land cleared when the park was originally built. Originally it was for a much larger Asia and the much longer Tiger Rapids River run.

Going waaay back, the rows are still visible from when it was part of WDWs tree farm (DAK forced this to move north)

Thanks! I figured it was something like that. Maybe a place to let the elephants run around on Saturday nights or something.:lol:

I knew it wasn't BK, because that's over where Camp Minnie-Mickey will eventually used to be.
