I thought so. I would have preferred Hugh Jackman, even Dan Brown liked Hugh Jackman as a Langdon. Nevertheless, I love Tom Hanks and I have faith he and Ron Howard will make it work.

On a first impression, you might not think that Hanks would be the best choice, but did anyone think that Hanks would be a good Jim Lovell in Apollo 13?

The only reason I was hesitant at first, is because of his physical appearance. When you read Robert Langdon's description, Tom Hanks seems too old, and not as cute :lookaroun

But I'm definitely hoping for the best.

No I do believe that Tom Hanks will be a good choice for this movie, he's a smart man who has done some unbelievable peices, including a gay man and a foriegn man.

I trust that he'll do the book some justice, because the book is simply incredible. Honestly. Pure genuis... but we'll see how it turns out.

True. But I think you would have to see how Hanks looks in makeup, how wardrobe dresses him, and how Hanks himself reads for the part.

Not to mention a learning disabled man in "Forrest Gump" and an eccentric southern gentleman in "Lady Killers." He's an extremely versitile actor. I agree with you completely :)

Oh I don't doubt that.

Don't get me wrong people, I am a huge fan of Tom Hanks. In fact, I just finished watching League of their Own which is one of his better movies alongside Toy Story :D. I just found it odd when they first announced him to play Langdon. I'm over it though and look forward to seeing the movie and reading Dan Brown's next book.
