Star Wars Land looks impressive- but it doesn't look like "Disneyland".

Very true. This will make the rest of Disneyland look second rate. Good thing it's in the back of the park. If this was the first thing they saw coming in, the rest of the park would be a huge letdown.

The reason it will blend into Critter Country and Frontierland is because they're spending tons of money to hide the "Star Wars" from the rest of the park. Most other lands are visible from the hub, and all work together to be a cohesive "Disneyland" experience.

It only seems cohesive to you because you grew up with it. It really isn't all that cohesive.

I could see simple things like pricing being in credits; that 25 dollar t-shirt costs 25 credits, for example.
So when we enter the land we would pay $1.25 per credit on our Star Card and then use the Star card in all the shops and restuarants.

Agreed. Magic Kingdom, with less rides, is truer to the Disneyland layout than disneyland is. Hub spoke and wheel, only. Disneyland is known for that but even from the presentation point in the hub, you cant see every land; New Orleans Square and critter country, not to mention toontown which I just believe to be a subland of Fantasyland, aren't represented. And walt wanted to build international street, edison square, liberty street, etc.

So disneyland, while famous for its hub spoke and wheel, is really an organic layout theme park and it is more interesting for it. Its inner ring is hub spoke and wheel but many of its most interesting parts are outside of that.

The place was designed like a movie theater. The tunnels show posters for coming attractions. Main Street is the theater lobby. The spoke is where you chose which theater to see a movie in. The lands are the movies staring you!

However, you cannot enter New Orleans Square or Critter Country for instance from the main hub...

And walt wanted to build 2 streets off of main street that would have made the perfect lobby, long shot medium shot close-up of the castle and the perfect collage of park offerings in the hub less linear. The entrance corridor would have become a triangle basically. I'm not saying it isn't perfect, but the first few castle park replicas around the globe are truer to its original layout than disneyland even was. Even when walt was alive, they built new orleans square. The perfect distribution of amalgamated lands-the future, european fantasyland, frontierland, adventureland, suddenly had an entire area the size of main street dedicated to... new orleans? So disneyland today is much more interesting as an organic layout park. the more impressive presentation point of park offerings honestly than the hub is the rivers of america, where you can stand and have a 360 view of big thunder, the tree house, pirates, new orleans square, haunted mansion, splash mountain, and soon, star wars land. E tickets in the round. And honestly an organic layout for disneyland makes more sense, as it is more flexible spatially with themes.

New Orleans Square, Critter Country, SW land and Toon Town are where you jump into the screen from the theater like in Last Action Hero, Pleasentville or Cool World.
