To be fair there should've been a third installment ages ago. Instead we got prequels, spin-offs, interquels, collections, collections of collections, etc. At least we finally know when we're getting it! Unless of course, it gets delayed some more.

Square-Enix has this problem with its bigger games. It announces them too early and seems to keep them in dev hell for whatever reason (spreading resources too thin, perhaps?), which results in them releasing games that are beyond beautiful, but technically feel a few years old. We're lucky we got Nier Automata so soon after release.

One thing I'll never get is the sheer number of KH spinoffs we got in between KH2 and KH3. The only one that felt remotely 'necessary' was Birth by Sleep, and I feel like that could've been a mainline game that acted as a prequel. I wonder if Disney had a hand in them pumping out so many.
