I'd be surprised to see any commonplace Nintendo characters now. Especially in a movie that previously dealt with kart racing. Calling it; Uni is going to pwn SWL once the novelty wears off. (Them's fighting words but I think it true)

You can't have a video game based movie (even if it's base on the internet too) without any Nintendo characters. As Disney has proved with Marvel, the film making business is a completely different ballpark than the theme park industry.
