My guess for content would be:
TSL Updates
SWL Updates (new Star Tours scene included)
Mickey GMR Replacement
Ratatouille Attraction
Magic Kingdom surprise which @marni1971 alluded to at some point.
And maybe a possible announcement of ROE refurb/replace or new DHS Show

Too early? It's supposed to close this fall!
yeah they will wait until it has been closed for 6 months and construction has already begun and everyone knows about it alreadsy...Like the next D23... that's in 2 years...they should still be 6 months to a year from opening... THEN they will probably mention it...
Maybe they will talk about Hong Kong's new Castle or something else great for Shanghai...

Sorry if this was already posted on here but what do you guys think they will discuss for D23 for Florida? If I remember correctly last time they focused more on the other parks it seems than the Florida parks.

I think though for Disney World they are gonna be talking about hopefully

- Star Wars Land
- Toy Story Land/maybe another pixar IP if they add one??
- Muppets fate??
- More info about whats going to happen with Hollywood Studios overall
- The Gondolas
- Epcot Future World w/ a new pavilion and ride for the world show case

The evil blog claims a Zootopia land is coming to Animal Kingdom? Would be incredible.
This would be disappointing to me. An urban setting really does not thematically jive with the more natural setting of Animal Kingdom. I know some of the Zootopia neighborhoods in the movie look a little more natural but it would still be weird. I guess it's better than DinoLand from a theme standpoint but I would much rather see either a true prehistoric creatures land or an land devoted to another geographic or ecological area like Pacific Islands, Australia, North America, or even the Ocean and it's shores.

I'd be surprised if they don't announce Mickey invading GMR. But who knows? They've planned things to announce at D23 before and changed their minds and then announced things out of the blue. Ready for it to get here. I think people place too much stock into what needs/should be announced at D23

I'm really curious how the UoE announcement will go over IF it happens at D23. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Epcot and then promptly telling the hardcore Epcot fans that an opening day (for the most part) attraction is being replaced with Guardians is sure to go over well.

My honest assumption is that 90% of the attendees are west coasters. GoTG for UOE seems far less contentious for attendees than an announcement of Star Wars for DL.

I have a feeling 'if' it is announced it is part of the DCA Marvel announcement and more afterthought or as a transition into an Epcot makeover segment.

I expect attendees to be more irritated that they got the overlay and Epcot got a 'new' ride. But the controversy over their tower has mostly burned out and seems largely accepted or embraced. Guardians at Epcot just really doesn't feel all that controversial compared to many, many other recent changes. In my opinion of course.

Here's my grandiose bet to the speaking points (and in order!)

1) It all started with a Mouse... ride (potential surprise for it at DCA - but mostly DHS context)
2) Star Wars segment
3) Epcot with as much or as little as they feel like (gondolas and Rat seem like the most likely)
4) International Parks segment. Could be incredibly lame and brief or could actually contain the most number of surprises for us. Marvel Paris, whatever the heck they are going to do next with SDL. Tokyo will be nearly completely ignored for their D23. HK I think they'll gloss over the known plans.
5) Marvel closeout. Largely depends on if they use Paris and Marvel to transition or Epcot and GoTG to transition in... but this segment will be DCA focused. They know the demographics of the audience present in the theatre.

If anything is not present from the above I think they'll pop up at Tokyo's D23 to upsell OLC on whatever Disney is trying to convince them to clone.

BREAKING NEWS: Disney gains the rights to Marvel attractions east of the Mississippi*

Disney: Demolish your Marvel rides, Universal!
Uni: Kiss my ace

*Side note: Disney doesn’t add any new rides after acquisition, simply overlays ToT and RnR with Marvel IP and markets them as brand new!

Rafiki’s needs an update of some kind. Scrap the train, move it to the park entrance and have it be a direct line to and from AKL. Leave the animal hospitals, retheme Planet Watch, fill in space from train with new land, but Zootopia is literally the exact opposite of what AK stands for - leave it out.

If they really close The Great Movie Ride I will be writing plenty of letters to Disney and their crap executives.... Everyone, we need to finally take a stand to Disney to express how we really feel when it comes to the parks.... How about a widespread boycott?

How we really feel? I'm ok with the change to Great Movie Ride so my letter would be thank you for finally doing something.

They should implement some various fixes here and there, but they shouldn't close the ride, a large scale work of art. Maybe we can convince an interested buyer for the attraction pieces and Disney will be forced to spend all the money over again...

They should do more than fix it, they should plus the heck out of it. Make it as great as the Tower of Terror. Since DCA seems to be abandoning its Hollywood-That-Never-Was-But-Always-Will-Be aspect, WDW should adopt it with a vengeance and thus offer something DCA doesn't have and give people a reason to choose DHS' Hollywood over Universal's Hollywood. DHS should OWN the Old Hollywood theme, not diminish it. DHS used to be my favorite WDW park because of its Old Hollywood theme. The more it discards it, the less interested in the park I become. And I don't think I'm in the minority here.
